It's a jam band term. Type 1 is your typical extended solos. Type II is when shit gets weird.
Yeah I looked it up. Pretty funny.

The Walking in Memphis parody last night was fucking amazing.

    Good Weekend Update too.

Lol. My wife grew up in Staten Island, it’s like my home away from home. That shit was great.

    Upcoming shows:

    917 8 Billie Eilish, Billie Eilish December 11, 2021

    Confirmed on air.
    918 9 Paul Rudd, Charli XCX December 18, 2021

    Billie doing double duty.

Looks like Rudd/Charli are doing the Christmas episode. Not exactly the Eddie Murphy/Lizzo double bill from a couple years ago, but should be entertaining.

This has been an above average season so far IMO.

Really like the newer players, too.

Agreed on both comments. I also like that Kate is absent. Cecily has had a really strong season. That said, I'm ready for Kenan to bounce. He plays the same character in every skit. He doesn't seem as hungry as the younger cast.

This season has been terrible, per usual. The best part is the guy doing Trump though, does a less cartoonish and much better impersonation. I bet Trump even likes it.

Add Aidy Bryant to the group of Kate McKinnon & Bowen Yang on why this show / season sucks still far.

    And yet I still watch.

I like the idea of him being on the show more than I actually like him on there. Chris Redd is funnier than Kenan but gets way less time.

I can take or leave him at this point. He's likely the next EP when Lorne steps away.

But why do you still watch? Honest question, no snark intended. If a show is terrible why waste time each week watching it when you could be watching something else? The extra great clips always make their way around the internet.

I ask myself that every week & I am someone with limited time too between kids and job. My best guess is that SNL was the first show I ever loved, and it had been usually great until about the mid 2000s, it's engrained in me to watch.

And Bowen Yang sucks, isn't funny & probably should find a new career.

the Tik Tok bit wasn't bad. I liked when Billie sang her first song and they did the camera angle in the beginning with her on the couch and the doors slide open to show the studio audience. I don't think I've seen that angle before for a musical guest and it was unique.

Billie's performances on SNL are always real good. The one with the rotating room last time was like something I'd never seen before.

She was a decent host. I thought she was going to crack up a few times like Adele during skits but she pulled through. Jost and Che got the biggest cheers of the night. You never know on live TV how a real life animal is going to act.

Fell asleep right before WU and woke up after the show. Tried to rewind and start over but fell asleep again almost immediately. Wasn't super impressed with any of the skits before falling asleep. There's no fast forward function watching on Hulu so I'll have to skip the rewatch of this one I guess.

I don't remember a single skit. Was there one about TikTok? It felt like it was a half hour long.

4 cast members and several crew tested positive today. Apparently, somehow, the show is still on. Charlie xcx is out, due to limited crew. Don’t know which cast members are out, guess we’ll find out in an hour.

they showed the "prerecorded" disclaimer before Tom Hanks came out. Well congrats to Paul Rudd, at least for joining the 5 timers club. They've gotta do Weekend Update even if it was from during the week.
