jimi thing was the most common guitar-guest song of the era though, with rhyme and reason close behind (12 and 9, respectively)

jimi thing and RnR are such typical guest songs that it almost takes some of the fun out of guests for me (not jimmy page though--nothing could take the fun out of jimmy page guesting)

I've seen like a dozen joe lawlor rhyme and reasons. I bet the guy can play other songs!

Could only just be an interpolation of Stairway in AATW. But I like where this is headed! I'll lose my mind if Mr. Page did guest on anything that night.
The guys who run the Almanac probably will as well.

This performance located in the picturesque Lac de Marsauce area takes on an intimacy perhaps not expected with the band so far from home. With friends and record label comrades in the attendance for Des Eurockeenes, the band launches into a diverse set which includes a still developing #41 among a collection of “old favorites” like Say Goodbye and Pay For What You Get. The set closes with an old school What Would You Say as an intro Ants, followed by an intimate solo acoustic encore from Dave featuring Christmas Song and Two Step, at the crowd’s request. The sound quality in this room is fantastic and coupled with the comfort level from the band, this show is rare treat, not yet heard before by fans.

    This release is from 7/9/95.

    I see this: http://rockandrollmemories.blogspot....-matthews.html
Which has DMB and Jimmy Page together on 7/6/95 in Barcelona (well, according to this webpage, it's not on the ticket itself) - maybe they played together then?

But DMB isn't listed as having played a show on 7/6/95 on the almanac, so I dunno

I dunno, but this is where that festival took place - here's an overhead shot from 1995

I notice they've finally added the Vol# into the description, which is how I've always catalogued them on the Dynamic Range database...and #30 would indeed be the right count for the next one.

Looks like a great release, will buy as soon as the FLACs are up; hopefully this show was not archived to mp3!
