***Official 2-Nights in Gilford, NH Thread 7/12-13***

Taking my daughter to her first ever concert! I put in for 3 reserved pavilion for night 1 and 3 lawn tickets for night 2. See what happens! Does anyone know at this venue for the lawn if chairs are allowed? Just looking at pics on their FB page and it seems like people had them..but in their policies section, it says no chairs.

I have been to shows and brought chairs but I would call and double check on this just to be sure. I'm sure it will be filled to capacity so they may not want chairs so they can get more room out of the lawn.

I still can't believe this is happening. I've been hoping and wishing they would play this venue for YEARS but I never thought they would. I've gone to many shows at this venue so I will try to answer any questions for those of you that have never been. Even though it's race week here at New Hampshire motor speedway you will hopefully be able to find some hotels that don't fill up until Thursday. Tilton, Belmont, and Concord might have some hotels open. Good luck!

1. There appear to be different parking lots you can book through the website. They seem to advertise the closer lot as being the "tailgate" lot. How is the tailgate scene there, and is it worth the extra $$ to be in one of the VIP lots? Is it a nightmare getting out of the General lot after the show?

2. Is the food decent there, or should I plan on eating beforehand?

3. How is the view from the lawn? It appears like the whole venue is flat, so are you basically on level with the reserved people under the main structure or can you see over them from the lawn?

4. Any obstructed views if you're off to the side in the reserved seating, such as at the Gorge?

5. Any recommendations on activities for Saturday day in or around Gilford? Do people hang by the water or do water activities?

6. The venue website appears pretty detailed and lists all the currently available tickets for the shows already onsale. Does it operate smoothly for the most part on the 1st day of sales, or could it crash or give crazy wait times like Ticketmaster does?

7. Any idea whether they are uptight about the "420" at the venue?

The tailgate scene is alive and well! I have never seen any cops give people a hard time as long as you use cups and don't be an absolute douche. The only time I've seen cops arrest anyone was when they nabbed someone illegally selling tshirts after the show. I have tailgated in all lots except VIP. I have always just used general lots and had no problems. People tailgate everywhere so I wouldn't pay for a VIP lot based on that. I think the VIP lots get out a bit quicker but the venue is so small traffic does not last long. I'm guessing this show will be packed to the gills so it may take a bit longer than usual but it is nothing compared to Mansfield or Hartford. The access roads all around the venue are just rural 2 lane roads so it can be a bit hectic at first. I would suggest just chilling in the lots for 20 minutes to a half hour after the show and letting the cluster disperse a bit. I am not going to pay the extra money for VIP because I think the general lots will be fine. It may take a bit longer than usual because this show will be so packed but it will still be better than most larger venues traffic.

2. Is the food decent there, or should I plan on eating beforehand?
The food I have gotten has always been great. It's your basic "fair food" type stuff, ie hamburgers, hot dogs, sweet or spicy sausage, french fires etc. There is also a restaurant there but I've never eaten at it. Artists on stage have described this venue as "the gig that smells good" because there are food vendors all around and it's such a small venue that the bands can smell the food from the stage.

3. How is the view from the lawn? It appears like the whole venue is flat, so are you basically on level with the reserved people under the main structure or can you see over them from the lawn?

The view from the lawn is great. It is a gradual slope so your view will not be obstructed. I have seen many shows from the lawn and it was fine. Just a heads up though that some people bring chairs to sit in. I am thinking they may not allow chairs for these shows as the lawn will be jammed so if you are planning on chairs you may want to call ahead first.

4. Any obstructed views if you're off to the side in the reserved seating, such as at the Gorge?

To my knowledge there are no obstructed views.

5. Any recommendations on activities for Saturday day in or around Gilford? Do people hang by the water or do water activities?

Absolutely. Gilford is in The Lakes Region of NH and there is a state park with a great beach right in Gilford. Lake Winnipsaukee is not far either and it's a huge lake with tons of beaches. I have never bought tix for a sold out show through the website so I'm not sure on that one.

I have seen plenty of 420 going on and done it myself. I didn't personally have any trouble or see anyone else have trouble either so you should be good to go.

I think it depends on credit card/debit card. I used a credit card.
I read on the Warehouse that pending charges do not mean you were selected.

Yup. Came in yesterday. I know it doesn't necessarily mean anything one way or the other... but I've never had pending chargers to then get declined. Hope that trend continues!

Me too, full charges for all 4 shows. Probably not a good sign that folks have full temps, if thats the case. Who knows? oh well, but good luck!

If you're going to hike, absolutely go to Mt Major. One of my favorite hikes. It's a nice 4ish mile hike roundtrip with outstanding views of the lake and mountains. While it's a relatively short hike, the differences in terrain keeps it interesting.

My Credit card got charged $698 and I put a request for 2 tickets for both night at Gilford and 4 tickets for both nights at SPAC. Did the math and i think i got both nights in NH and 1 night in SPAC.

Pretty pumped!

Actual charge. I had a hold of like 1200 for the total that was refunded.

My pending charge is gone and I know have an actual charge.
Odd amount though. I had pending for $390 and now the hard charge is $368.
I had picked pit and lower reserved so I was thinking I got bumped back a section but the math still does not work out.

Just checked... Confirmed two nights at Gilford. Fully declined at SPAC.
First night Pit! Second night reserved.
I am so happy. I already had the beach front hotel booked.
I am so happy. First time with pit tickets. And the venue looks to be very special.

I am also wondering how big the pit is? I was able to be confirmed for both nights in the pit! Was able to get a room at the Misty Harbor as well, now just to hope the pit is a decent size!

Got Uppers for N1 and Pit for N2. Looking forward to going there since I've never been. My fiance's dad lives 30 minutes from the venue so he gets to go to his 1st DMB show on N1 and then N2 in the Pit with just my fiance and our friend.


Also: We have 1 extra N2 WH Gilford Pit to trade for your 1 N1 WH Camden Pit if anyone is interested.
