You guys have heard right? NCAA rules schools can't use subscription recruiting services like Rivals, Scout, 247, ESPN anymore. Any school who has used those is apparently committing a 2ndary violation.

Those services host video of camps and combines, etc. that coaches aren't allowed to attend. Or something like that.

Once again, the NCAA is giving out parking tickets while drug cartels are killing sheriffs.

Looks like Terrelle Pryor is looking into the NFL's supplemental draft. Can only wonder why he wants the F out of there.

The only reason I can think of is that he doesn't want to beat Michigan again, because if he stays on the team, he is going to go 4-0 against them.

No he's not. The fact that this is even being reported and speculated sums up the current state of journalism in this country quite nicely.

What? How would you even know this to be true.

Here's the problem with that "article" and many like it.

Before publishing that article, National Football Post could have simply done the following:

@TPeezy2 We've heard rumors you're thinking about the supplemental draft. True?

Or in case he doesn't respond:

@TPeezy2 We're about to publish that you're thinking about the supplemental draft. True?

    Instead, they published...

"Terrelle Pryor is thinking about the supplemental draft" without even bothering to get a quote or a confirmation from subject of the article or anyone even close to Pryor. "Anonymous sources". It's simply yellow journalism. Nothing more, nothing less and it's perpetuated every facet of journalism.

The allegation that Tressel lied to the NCAA is significant. Since 2006, the NCAA has sanctioned 28 schools for violating the ethics bylaw that Tressel did. Of the 13 head coaches involved, only one kept her job. The others either resigned or were fired by their schools.

    It just keeps getting worse.

Yes! I knew AbeFroman would be the first to post this. . Favorite new poster.

Actually, this is great for Ohio State. NCAA didn't find anything new damning information after investigating. Most significantly, NCAA isn't alleging "lack of institutional control" or "failure to moniter". In other words, Tressel acted alone.

I see vacated wins last season due to what should have been ineligible players (but does the Sugar Bowl get vacated because the NCAA already ruled those players eligible for that game?? Oh NCAA you slay me). No post-season bans or scholarship reductions. Tressel might get suspended longer if the NCAA feels five games isn't enough.

Great for the tOSU, not JT. They do not meet till Aug. So we will pron not hear too much more before that.

And any fan of any school who says:

stripping Ohio State of its wins from 2010, NCAA rules allow the organization to reduce the number of football scholarships OSU can award and forbid Ohio State from participating in any Big Ten championship game or post-season bowl game

is not bad, must be a fan of the bucknuts.

That will be very interesting. Depending on how many wins they vacate, they wouldn't have even been in the Sugar Bowl.

It say they would get to keep the Bowl win, cause the NCAA ruled them eligable for that game. So they will no wins for the season, and a bowl win. Has a team ever had no wins in a season, and a bowl win? Only at tOSU.

Right. I only think the bolded would have happened if there was that "lack of institutional control" or "failure to moniter charge". That's what you saw with USC.

Just musing but the loss of scholarships and post-season bans seem to be penalties that would be levied against a program as a result of a program's (i.e. compliance on down) indiscretions. It's clear now after the NCAA letter of allegations that Tressel acted alone. Tressel deserves the punishment. That's why I don't think much will happen that has the potential to affect the program as a whole.

Sounds good to me. Keep that BSC win against the SEC.

That sure seems like it would be the program too.

    Oh Abe.

I'm talking about what I think will happen. Not what could happen.

OSU AD has been extremely compliant with the NCAA. Tressel not so much. I feel that the punishments will reflect that.
