this is specifically pointed towards OSU, but i'm using them as the example. is there any reason why Pryor and the rest can't be suspended for conference games rather than just the first 5 games of the season? with how easy most teams' schedules are at the beginning of the season, any suspension under 5 games really isn't going to hurt the teams. so instead of them getting suspended for the first 5 games, could the NCAA suspended them for say the first 2-3 games of conference play? that would hurt teams more than not letting them play against teams where they'll be pulled for the 2nd string at the half anyway. then maybe they'll think twice about doing stupid shit, because rather than having a blow out turn into a somewhat close game, they are risking the conference.

I'm pretty sure that the truth isn't that "JT is done" unless you have a crystal ball. In fact, there's really no precedence for such a statement. The precedence lies that OSU would have fired Tressel. The NCAA has never ruled on a violation like this.

I don't get why this story is so huge in the news again. It's not like any new incriminating evidence came out. The NCAA just said "Hey OSU after investigating we agree with what you told us and Tressel is going to be in trouble just as everyone in the world figured." Everyone is just rehashing the same things they said two months ago.

The news was that there wasn't some big conspiracy incriminating multiple people. That's about it.

And news did come out yesterday. The complaint came out. We know know that they are leaving the school and the kids out of this, for now. They are going after Jt with a 10.1 violation. Which means he is prob gone if history tells us anything.
