RS interview with Dave talking about his time away from the band, some info about his involvement with the new record and going back out on the road with the boys.

I thought this was the case when it was announced yesterday, but then this tweet made it seem like it may just be a collaboration on A Dustland Fairytale:

Yeah, I'm not a fan. The production value is pretty rough tbh. Maybe it'll sound better on headphones, but if I want to hear a perfect version of a perfect song I'll just cue up the original recording.

Congrats, man! They've also added a show near Cincinnati on September 20th. Not sure if I'll go to that one or wait until Nashville next year, but my next show will be my 15th.

Looking forward to their new record on Friday. I've heard West Hills and its fantastic. A slower moody burn.

There's an alt version on Spotify that doesn't include the interview clips.

I really enjoyed this. Definitely a very different vibe for them but I found it to be a cohesive and thoughtful record. I’d be surprised if this isn’t more of a one off for them given the circumstances it was written/recorded but happy to have it. Need another listen to pick favorites but I immediately loved West Hills

Not amazing, but there are some tracks that I really like. Very strong start with the first two songs.

    After a couple of spins:

    Runaway Horses
    In the Car Outside

    West Hills
    Quiet Town

    In Another Life
    Pressure Machine
    Sleepwalker
    Terrible Thing

    Cody
    The Getting By
    Desperate Things

    Album Rankings:
    1. Hot Fuss
    2. Sam's Town
    3. Battle Born
    4. Imploding the Mirage
    5. Day & Age
    6. Pressure Machine
    7. Wonderful Wonderful

I like it, but I don't know that I'll revisit it a lot or have much desire to hear most of the songs live.

I'm late to The Killers. I just got into them due to their influence from The War on Drugs on their last album Imploding the Mirage. The War on Drugs is one of my top favorite bands. "My Own Souls Warning" is an outright banger that sounds JUST like something from a The War on Drugs album.

I like Pressure Machine. Immediately gives me Springsteen's Nebraska vibes. West Hills is a great song.

west hills is a hell of an opener and quiet town is very much another war on drugs vibe. that harmonica!

Love the album! Saw a ton of fans trashing the album and I was worried. Yes, it is pretty much different vibe than normal Killers records but i love that sort of music. I think the only song I dont really care for Terrible Thing which is terrible lol

Just realized the violin on this record (which is great!) is Sara Watkins, who played with Dave & Tim a couple years ago. Pretty cool connection!

Decided to swing down to Philly last night from NYC for the show. Found a floor single for $60 at about 8:30.
What a damn show they put on. Everything you'd want from a live concert experience
Stood next to the soundboard the whole night, had a ton of space back there.
Was able to grab a setlist as well.
Going to try and finagle a ticket for MSG on Saturday

If you're not familiar with Rick Beato's channel and you're a music nerd I can't recommend it highly enough. His What Makes This Song Great series is phenomenal. He just posted a breakdown of Brightside.
