Re: What (besides politics) irritates you?
Pretty irritated by myself, actually...and questions about the recall feature. If I recall an email before it's read (requested a read receipt), will it magically delete it with no trace? Or should I just accept that I've made a decision, for better or worse, and go with it? I sent it to HR and my immediate manager, as required.
Not going to go into complete details, but I sort of put in my 30 day notice at work today (as stipulated). I also sort of sent a word file as an attachment that contains, effectively, the most thorough renunciation of anything since the 95 Thesis. It's 11 pages long and is an epic rant. No curse words, but I'm pretty sure the vitriol is evident. You guys don't know me, but you know how I do with those things. Likely the only reason I haven't been fired yet is because the higher ups are gone for the day. There is only one other person who can do my job and they are on FMLA. I've been under a lot of largely unnecessary stress lately picking up other people's slack. Do I have another job lined up? No. Would I rather flip burgers than do this shit at this point? Yes. Am I financially fucked? Maybe three months of savings, which, yes, is financially fucked.
Sorta stuck between retracting it with my tail between my legs and leaving proudly if I can't recall it. I find ways to fuck up good things, but I spent six hours in the ER with chest pains last week. So I need to ask myself, is this job worth a heart attack? No. I've recently taken up a more positive mindset and I just can't with this place anymore.
First day off in three weeks tomorrow and I'm job hunting. Or I might just say fuck it and have some beers. I'm expecting my phone to blow up starting at 7am.
