This was the pinnacle of excitement for me. I remember someone putting together what was like the first minute and a half of SMLAM that was from this and some other source and I would just play that on repeat over and over. I miss the excitement of a new album coming.

does anyone remember before Big Whiskey dropped that Starbucks had the album early and it was playing over their speakers and someone recorded a part of LITHOG and posted a super shitty quality recording of it? and we endlessly analyzed the clip those were the days.

The BW lead up was such a fun time. The boards were so active here. I remember the LITHOG "leak"

I think the craziest thing was the Road to Big Whiskey doc that Fuse aired. Everyone flipped their shit when Lillywhite popped up in there.

The band's official facebook page just shared "Do You Remember" from Farm Aid. Could this be the start of some album promotion?

Since tour dates are rumored to maybe drop next week, I wonder if we'll get a dual tour dates and album announcement all at once.

It could even be something as simple as like: "Album dropping in x season and produced by Rob Cavallo."

Speaking of which, do we think that's changed at all? Will Rob still be the producer? That's the last we heard I think.

As of last March Cavallo is still producing the album. Quote from BT: “This record is being produced by Rob Cavallo, and Rob likes to do albums over a period of time. Big Whiskey was done over a year and a half or two years, in five different studios. So this one is gonna be the same way. We’re gonna take our time and record it here and there. It gives us enough time to absorb the music too. “Are we digging this, are we digging that?” That kinda thing.”

Last we heard Cavallo was out- to my disappointment- a while ago. I think a couple people have given us that report that they may be self producing, but no other report from the band, so I can hold out hope.

Boyd said Rob Cavallo was producing only 10 months ago. Maybe they changed their plans, but I’m holding out hope that he’s still producing and see no legitimate reason to believe otherwise.

Wasn't sterling sound as complicit in that problem though. I loved what Cavallo brought to Carter's playing and though the drum sounds themselves and the choices made there were great. The album certainly lacked dynamics though.

That was a good one for sure. Sounded so Lillywhite, but with a new DMB. Sadly, as much as I do enjoy the song, it's something for me that Dave missed on the melody and so the song fails to reach the heights it could have. Thought we had the next epic song in the vein of Two Step, Seek Up, Bartender, etc.

It'll be curious to see their marketing strategy this time around. BW seemed to have a huge marketing push behind it (the Fuse doc and show, all the little videos they dropped, making themselves available for interviews, etc.). Whereas AFTW had hardly any push behind it; a couple videos and just the fact that Lillywhite was producing it. Seemed like they were trying to not get everybody's hopes up

They haven't really tried to gain a bunch of new fans lately so part of me thinks they'll try to do that this year with a big marketing campaign. Especially with their slightly declining ticket sales.
