Yeah, bud, I was crossing my fingers for June ‘97, I have been listening to that run of show lately, I got curious after reading Nevin Martell book:
In the summer of 1997, the band logged in thirty headlining shows across the States with Tex-Mex country rockers Los Lobos and Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, with Jeff Coffin as openers. Starting, as usual, in Virginia at the Classic Amphitheater in Richmond on June 3.
DMB set out to do the last leg of a seemingly never-ending tour in support of Crash.
What I can say is that those June 97 show are truly amazing. The band has an incredible alchemy, Dave’s voice is top, and Béla contributions are so good.
I was especially hoping for 6.10, Jones Beach (Wynona > Typical > Ants), but I missed for 2 days.
And, no, I don’t have an inside track
