Well I'll be damned. They didn't cut anything. I would have bet they did because of how long Stevie's speech went on. http://dmbalmanac.com/TourSetScan.as...75474&tid=3154

I don't understand why everyone here thought Stevie wouldn't say anything, or that the band had anything else planned after Superstition that would be cut.

I think most people were expecting Dave Matthews Band to play the majority of the Dave Matthews Band set at the concert set up by Dave Matthews Band

This is a bad math question. If you remove the new shit they tried, then of course I can't answer. To me, bringing out Stevie for 3 songs is new, it is unexpected. If you want to look at the overall performance but subtract the new things then yes...you will be looking at old things.

If the first two songs with Stevie were on the set list what was with all the confusion when he started to sing?

My guess is because he switched the first two songs? Setlist had:

Love's in Need of Love Today
    Imagine

I was speaking more for the future of the band, as opposed to that single show. I totally get the excitement for that short set. Moving forward, I just dont see anything that indicates exciting, "not knowing whats gonna come next" experience like SW being on stage brings. Thats all I was getting at, posing a question about the future of the band.

Thought they might have had a DMB song or two with Stevie somewhere before Superstition. I didn’t expect Stevie’s speech to be three times longer than any other speech that night.

90% of the band sounded fine... idc about Butch bc he's not coming back (guessing)

Boyd has been muted for awhile except on solos and Tim is just ridiculously loud. Dave and the horns and carter were great.. I was there right on the rail and the crowd loved it too

DMB should have been the first act of the evening, showcasing a set of their most upbeat & positive songs. Entire stadium would have been ready to party instead of ready to leave.
JT as the final act of the evening.

Fair point. The pessimist in me feels like we already know the answer.

Re: **A Concert for Charlottesville** 9/24/17

I know I’m a little late to this party, but better late than never.

So my friend and I drove the 4 hours to get to Charlottesville after I managed to get 2 tickets last minute. Our seats were a few rows up from the field, horns side of stage, in the section next to where all those douche bags kept cramming in the aisle.

Cage the Elephant: the poem was dumb. I definitely cringed. For them having several songs I know from the radio and liked, aside from one song I was disappointed by their set list. The lead singer was pretty ridiculous and I thought he looked a lot like the guy from The OC (I am pretty much blind so I could be wrong).

Coldplay: okay not really the whole band but we were surprised. They did really good, especially for it just being the two of them.

The Roots & everybody: I was into it. I was into the guy who looked like Andy Dick playing that electronic button box thingy even more.

Pharrell: LOVED. Especially “Lucky”. I absolutely love that Daft Punk song with Pharrell on it.

Chris Staplewhatever: SNOOOOOOZE! People actually like this guy?? I literally was falling asleep, was not impressed by his songs or lyrics, and I was just hoping to god he’d hurry up and get off stage.

Ariana Grande: she was good, I don’t get why people hate on her. I also do not get why her psycho fans SCREAM the lyrics to her songs, literally so loud I couldn’t hear her, just them. I didn’t get why it was just her and a spotlight but hey I didn’t think she was awful.

Justin Timberlake: like everyone else has said, YES, he was really good. He got the memo that Cage the Elephant did not: play your biggest hits, because this is not your normal crowd of die hard fans and you want people to know what you’re playing and sing along. I was hoping for SexyBack and damn it I got it.

DMB: I really don’t understand how people are saying they were a train wreck/disaster- i thought they sounded great! I called DDTW and Warehouse, I was proud of myself 😬. Gotta say I didn’t understand Seven. Could not hear Butch, AT ALL. And my friend and I just kept making fun of how Boyd literally looked like he was totally asleep, until all of a sudden he’d move his arm back and forth to play his part on the violin. Still pretty confident he was asleep the entire time. Someone should have told him it was a Crystal Garden concert, then he’d of been into it 🙄🤦🏻*♀️ Seriously why does he even bother showing up anymore?

Stevie: when they announced his name there was a mad rush for the stage, and I started diabolically laughing at all the assholes who left before DMB. But then he started talking and HE WOULDNT STOP. It was seriously damn near 20 minutes of his jabber jawing. Of course Superstition was the highlight of him being onstage. I thought Dave sounded great, and of course was just as sexy as ever. When it was over I was pissed Stevie took up so much time flapping his gums.

OVERALL: people are overly critical, it was a good show, minus Chris Staplerhead and Stevie’s speech. I seriously can’t wait for DMB to finally go back on tour, only I hope Boyd gets the memo to WAKE THE HELL UP before the shows.

Yeah that would have made sense. They should have cut Stevie’s mic after 10 minutes...
