Okay once and for all, Once On A Wild Afternoon is...

I have an mp3 labeled once on a wild afternoon from the DKE house show which is the same song as the one titled Destiny from the 4-5-92 video during soundcheck. If you view the antsmarching.org tab archive, it lists once in a wild afternoon and states that it is Kind Intentions... maybe the MP3 I have is mislabeled, but if not... heres the math that doesnt add up..

Once On a Wild Afternoon = Destiny
Kind Intentions = Once on a Wild Afternoon
but
Destiny doesn't = Kind Intentions...

anyone care to explain?

sure. Kind Intentions is a song. OIAWA is another song. Destiny doesnt exist. i think thats all that matters

Destiny is the common title for OOAWA. OOAWA is what Dave says the song is supposed to be called. But for some reason it has been mistakenly labled Destiny several times.

OOAWA and Kind Intentions are not the same song. The tabs in the tab section that you speak of are the tabs for Kind Intentions. They don't have the tabs for OOAWA there, it's just a lableing error as far as I can see.

just got confused in the tab where it said
"Once on a wild afternoon (Kind Intentions)

Yes, and I believe it was played at one other show (6-1-92?) but that show isn't available on tape as far as I can tell. It's too bad because I've always wanted to hear another version of it than the DKE house.

If 4-5-92 is the Van Rypers festival or whatever, it was only teased in the soundcheck, the guitar rift, no vocals unfortunately.

OOAWA is a sweet song. I wish Dave had played that and Heathcliffs' Haiku Warriors a few more times. They'd both be sweet solo songs to start encores off, gravedigger style.

4.5.92 was the first apperance of some of the song knows as OOAWA. It was in a Jam that they played as a soundcheck. The song then showed up 2 times on 6.1.92 (date it was named) and 9.11.92.and rift teased on 6.3.96 by an inebriated Dave.

All info thanks to Jake's wonderful tour archive here at AM.org! lol

Do you know if any tape of 6-1-92 exists? There is no record of any source info at dmbechange.org.

I just downloaded this song and it's sort of reminding me of WYA. Weird.

I always thought that OOAWA was an early Say Goodbye... I've never heard it, maybe I'll download it now.

You're probably thinking of Any noise/anti noise. That song was an early version of say goodbye

You should try and hear it. It's a very good forgotten track. I think the DKE house show is available at dmbsource.com if you just want to listen to an mp3 of that song.

This song has a great bass-line. Why was this abandoned? Pretty sure Dave knew/knows about it, at-least up to around '97 when he teased it...
