you need to listen again. the story telling and allusion is outstanding.

The chorus is horrific. I should've specified.

I feel ya, I heard it on the radio a couple weeks ago and was like "Wow, whoever this is is trying to be a poor man's Counting Crows" then the dj said it was Counting Crows.

My friend told me about a really good performance of "Round Here," and I found a video of it on YouTube. It really is great... so I decided to check out their website to see if I could purchase the song as I wanted to own a SBD version of it... and of course you can purchase every song individually except for that since it is a 16 minute performance. Does anyone happen by chance to have the show? Or maybe go in and split it or something? I really don't want to spend $13.00 just to get 1 song haha

I completely agree! Possibility Days is right up there with A Horsedreamer's Blues, Chelsea, and A Murder of One. It doesn't really sound like the rest of the album and I'm glad that they didn't just scrap it to have a more cohesive sound.

Some really writing went into the lyrics in Possibility Days:

And the worst part of a good day is the one thing you don’t say
And you don’t know how but you wish there was some way
So you pull down the shades and you shut off the lights
Because somehow we mixed up “Goodbye” and “Goodnight”

I think I have someone else who is interested, would you be interested in splitting the show? We could each pay $4 and I'll upload-email you the tracks? Or if anyone else is interested, the cost would drop again!

Bumping this thread to celebrate 25 years of the Counting Crows. I grew up listening to them, as my dad has been following them since the beginning.

Throughout my entire life, I have had "phases" of music that I listen to, but the Crows (particularly Mrs. Potter's Lullaby) are a part of every single phase.

I've seen them 3 times, and I think the last show I saw last week was the best one.

FYI, they just released August and Everything After (the original song!) on Amazon music. I cannot stop listening. I have loved this tune from the second I found it on YouTube, and this studio version is hauntingly beautiful.

I was also thrilled (at work for all of my coworkers to observe.) I wound up buying the track and downloaded Amazon Music to listen... I think it is still #2 in Amazon purchased downloads.

From the description of a vinyl preorder from my local shop
"After seven years, Adam Duritz and Counting Crows return with their latest record, Butter Miracle, Suite One. Written on a remote farm in the United Kingdom’s countryside in 2019, the four-track, 18-minute suite was artfully composed so that each track flows without interruption from one song to the next. The result, "The Tall Grass," which leads to "Elevator Boots," which segues into "Angel on 14th Street," whose climatic crash is the first power chord to the intro to the final song, "Bobby and the Rat-Kings."

The B side of the vinyl includes August & Everything After for the first time on Vinyl!!!"

The new song is good, gives me a high life album vibe. The imagery in his lyrics has always been top notch. I'd love a full album, but im happy for an ep

Did someone sign up on a DMB forum to post solely about Counting Crows in 2021? I did not see that coming!

Unrelated, Elevator Boots is pretty solid.
