Re: Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers

So, apparently TP is releasing a Wildflowers B-sides album. They say him and Rick Rubin had originally intended to do a double album. I for one am fucking excited about some Wildflowers scraps.

Tom Petty is a guy that I absolutely adore as an artist. The guy just writes fucking great tunes.

    "get to the hook!"

Really need to see him live.

Some Tom Petty I shot at a 1400 capacity club in Los Angeles. I was lucky enough to get tix. Enjoy!

Very excited about the Wildflowers 'leftovers' release. The original is one of my favorite albums of the 90's, every tune on it is so great. 'Crawling Back To You' is just an absolute masterclass.

I've also long been wanting a well done, AAA Wildflowers vinyl reissue. The originals go for huge bucks. They pop up on Discogs occasionally but I can't justify dropping $200 on one album.

Digging the "new" tune after giving it a couple listens. Easy to see why it didn't fit in to the final collection of tunes for Wildflowers almost sounds more like Jeff Lynne produced it rather than Rick Rubin. Really looking forward to hearing the rest of the music.

My buddy and I for years used to get loaded and shoot dozens of games of pool each night during the summer break. We always played Petty so now I hear Petty and end up wanting to rack up the balls for a game!

He is certainly on my bucket list for shows to attend!

I made that mistake ages ago with the Grateful Dead so I can sympathize 100%. I had a ticket to see them at Giants Stadium in 1995 and the day of I was lazy and gave my friend my ticket and slept in rather than a ride to Jersey. I figured the Dead were always touring and I would have plenty more chances to see them. Then Jerry died, stupid decision on my part but I could not have known the future, nor could you in regards to Petty.
