Wow, DMB is getting killed on the Boston.com reaction to this news story! I have checked to see if this story has been written anywhere else and have not found much, but I am interested to see what the reaction will be outside of Ants and diehard fans.

I guess I was just thinking / hoping it would have more of a positive reaction. Oh well, the last time they played there the place was electric, one of the best crowds I have seen at a DMB show on N2!

nice, I live on the corner of Hillside and Darling st. Where in Brigham Circle do you work? Do you go to MCPH? I used to go to Wentworth, that is why I still live up there. Just kept my apt.

nah I went to northeastern, graduated a couple years ago. lived on parker hill terrace and sachem street. i moved out to medford last august. i work at the immune disease institute a little bit outbound of brigham circle, building with the red stripe on it.

uhh, in no particular order: Ryan Adams, Elliot Smith, Ray Lamontagne, David Gray, Aimee Mann, Tom Waits, Tori Amos, Ani Difranco, Jeff Tweedy, Liz Phair, Jeff Buckley, Ben Harper, Cat Power, Devendra Banhart might give Dave a run for his money

i dont think any of those bands would come close to selling out one show at Fenway

Exaclty...either Dave keeps attracting each new fraternity pledge class or the more likely scenario is the frat boys (me included I guess) that liked Dave in 1998 and continue to go to shows have actually graduated college are now grown-ups and have real jobs. The image remains nonetheless...

People love to hate on the internet. Everything is the worst ever or the greatest thng ever or is ranked in order of whatever. DMB's new album will be deemed the greatest or worst thing ever by April before anyone hears it...as will these shows. Funny thing is it took a lot of people a long time for BTCS to grow on them and now it's considered the greatest. However, it won't stop people from saying Big Whiskey is awful before June 2nd is half way over. Lame.

I had a positive experiance.

Im not speaking of the music. I was there so I dont have to listen to it or have you explain what happened to know it was good, plus I have a recording. I meant the experience outside ruined the whole day for many people.

Also, am I the only one who doesnt find it totally amazing that the crowd sang the verses of Jimi Thing? it happens anyway, the only difference is Dave didnt sing it too.

Anyway.
