If he sounded that good, why mute him?
I think they just brought him up in the mix. They did the same thing with Bismarck, you can hear him clearly throughout here-

Also, interesting that this video mutes Jeff. I think Bismarck would sound better with a Boyd solo at the end.

That could be cool, but I do think Jeff fits that section very well. With that said, that's the same way I feel about that middle section of Samurai Cop. I am not a fan of the horn line they started doing there. that would make a great little violin solo section.

Wait, are we supposed to not like R&R now?! Love the song, love it with Lawlor. Love the Jeff Beck interpolations and love him and Tim dueling back and forth.

After watching the first half of the show on the blu ray and then listening to the 2nd half on the Cds, the blu-ray audio mix is soooooo much better. I felt the CD mix was really dry and sounds a bit flat. Dave's voice sounds rougher on the audio than it does on the blu-ray. Overall while his voice is certainly not a highlight here, I also didn't think it was nearly as bad as I was fearing after reading some of the comments here.

Nice package overall, but I'll come back to the blu-ray most often on this one. Kinda wish there was an option to just purchase the blu-ray alone.

Agree with all this. Audio mix on the CD is strange. Stefan and Jeff are turned WAY up, the volume on Dave's voice seems to waver at times, and Boyd is actually turned up enough to hear him on everything. Blu Ray seems like it's a lot more balanced, but that could also be the difference between my factory car speakers and my sound system hooked up to my TV.

Apologies folks, being lazy and not back reading. Has anyone mentioned the blu ray video seems slightly off to the audio? For those musicians out there, it seems to be roughly a 1/16th note off. Just trying to see if it's a problem with the dvd overall, or if it's my blu ray player being slow or something.

    Thanks!

Most likely it's an HDMI sync issue, most receivers have the ability to adjust the sync by as much as 450ms, I rarely ever have a Blu-ray that I can't get sync'd up (except ones like Nirvana Live at the Paramount that have obvious editing errors) using my AVR as it would drive me nuts.

You sir are a great human. Even if this is obvious to most people, this is literally the first time I've used a blu ray player. I didn't know this was an option.

Adjusted the sound by 100ms and now it's perfect. Thank you!

Am I the only person who hasn't gotten this delivered yet? I just did the standard shipping, but I've got no shipping info, although online it says "partially shipped" (I had ordered something else that must not be in stock anymore).

On Monday my FedEx tracking # said it would be here on Thursday. Now it says I won't get it until Monday. Was really looking forward to watching this over the weekend. Lame. Not used to two week shipping. Amazon has spoiled everything.

Also, interesting that this video mutes Jeff. I think Bismarck would sound better with a Boyd solo at the end.

I retract my statement. Just watched the video and damn that was great. Boyd was really playing very well in 2016. It’s really a shame he was muted most the tour.

To be fair, they brought Carter up in the mix for this one because it's a Vic Firth video and focusing on his drumming.

    Yeah, this is correct.

Kind of an odd choice for a drumming demo video. I mean, I'd watch an entire show on that 'Carter Cam' if I could but that's not one of his 'flashier' tunes.

Haven't read all 28 pages of this thread but was just checking in to see what others were saying about this show and the overall package. Have gotten the chance to spend some time with the three discs......rough. Lots of Dave goofs, his voice is rough, some versions of songs darn near sound like a cover band instead of the real deal. Didn't catch the band in 2016 but clips I did see from most of the tour were not like this. Had to just turn off a few songs, including the Say Goodbye others have mentioned.

Hope the BluRay is better, disappointed so far, nearly to the point of just tossing the three CDs.......that's not the sound I want to remember. Bonus disc was "ok"

There's quite a few Carter Cam videos on YouTube. There's one for SMLAM, and where it's not one of my favorite songs, he slays it. His instructional video "under the table and drumming" is also awesome.

Bonus disc was "ok"
the bad part to me isn't Dave's voice at all, because that's going to happen, just like lyric mishaps. They neglect to mix these cd's now a days in a way to recreate the live show that we see in concert. That's what really bugs me. certain parts sound great, and others sound bad. and the overall range of the show is not portrayed well. they really need to do something about this. I have about 15-20 LT that are not listenable, for me at least. but I'm very picky. anyone though can see a difference and understand how I mean it. Like Dreaming Tree and Pig from LT26, compared to the CP Bonus Disc and the Warehouse cd versions. I would really like to know why they are not mixing these like they should.

Yeah, I just finished this live trax. Not impressed at all. I know Dave's vocals are shot at this point.... but I just wasn't captured in this release. I understand we all have our opinions, I did too didn't read all the pages before. Simply not impressed. Mixing was terrible, the entire show sounded like I was in the back of the venue peeing inside a porta john.

Still waiting for the Live Trax 7/7/01.........We need another Chicago Show. We've got the United Center and Wrigley released, why not Solider Field as well?

    Happy holidays to everyone!

I'm glad to have another Blu-Ray and I'll probably watch this one from time to time, but not the best LT. Oh well, I've really liked every other recent release.

This Cry Freedom is amazing. It's a damn shame this song isn't in heavy rotation. I need to hear it once before they stop touring.
