Nico Harrison, GM of the year?

Jk. Now let’s see what he/the Mavs actually do with that money now. I heard Demar and Lowry are interested in playing on the same team again????

if two best friends are free agents in the same year of course theres gonna be rumors. the Derozan market is so weird, and that fit between those two is meh in 2021

Moses Brown is an absolute physical freak and i hope Doncic unlocks him

Bonga, Portis, and Bradley officially UFA!!!

Knew it was coming but still sad. Go get paid, though, big man.

    Per Jake Fischer:

The reigning champion Bucks are believed to have interest in re-signing versatile defender P.J. Tucker on a deal framework of two years, $20 million, sources said. There's also a belief that Bobby Portis and Milwaukee hope to strike a deal.

    https://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ng-pg-carousel

Also mentions that Brooklyn is believed to be the front runner for Forbes and that DeRozan, Carmelo, and Rudy Gay are all considering cheap deals with the Lakers.
I would be fine with Tucker at 2/20. Probably proves to be a valuable contract in the second year to use as filler in a trade if the Deer are looking to upgrade a younger option.

Not sure what they could be working out with Portis, but I guess it kind of tracks with not many teams having the cap space.

And of course Melo, Rudy and DeRozan are considering the Lakers

^ that 2/20 figure is just about all they can offer Tucker

having the taxpayer MLE (5.9m) to pay both Forbes AND Portis would be...something. my estimate for Forbes market is at 3/30 and Portis is 3/42. more than one of the major cap space teams (New York, Miami, San Antonio, Dallas, hell even teams with moderate space like Cleveland/Detroit) will strike out and fork up the cash for rotation guys

a hot name i’m hearing out there whose market is absolutely DEAD is Otto Porter. all the maxed out teams like Utah, Lakers, and Milwaukee might wanna take a look, he might take even less than the mini MLE, insanely good value

among other names gettable at very cheap: Gay, Iguodala, Ariza, Dragic, Ellington, Lou Williams, Avery Bradley, Snell, Zeller, Dedmon, James Johnson, McLemore

I don't think they'll even try to bring Forbes back, to be honest. Maybe will chase a vet who can fill that same role, like Redick.

Tucker and Portis are priorities. I think Tucker resigns for sure. They have his bird rights and I don't know that there is an abundance of teams who are going to give him much more than 2/20 at his age.

yeah Forbes is gone, we saw his true value in the conference finals/finals

Tucker i think is a virtual lock to come back. coincidentally the only good team to offer him a decent look is Phoenix. if the Clippers didn’t have such a need for a scoring wing, they might too

oooo some fascinating business by Miami

picked up Dragic 19m team option

this puts them over the cap (factoring in Nunn and Robinson cap holds)

this means they can access the full MLE and BAE

Dragic’s salary allows for a sign and trade for Lowry

a sign and trade would hard cap them at the apron, around 136 or so

even with Lowry this would leave enough wiggle room to retain Robinson assuming he doesn’t get a crazy offer sheet (over 23m per year or so)

i mean, there’s no way you offer QO at 7m for him to miss another year. maybe they’ll be nice and have him rehab at the facility, but he’s dead meat for 2022. if he’s healthy in spring, someone will take a flyer on him at the minimum but he’s got a ton to prove health wise

just saw that Collins timetable is 3-6 months, if he’s healthy he’s great value at 1 minus 1/6m or something for those potentially maxed out teams like the Lakers, Milwaukee, Utah, Miami etc. Golden State and Phoenix too, anyone who needs a decent 9th-10th guy in the playoffs

Anthony would you be happy if the Knicks throw 4/110 or 5/125 at Duncan Robinson? there’s no way Miami can match it i don’t think, if they’re hardcapped

i am all for San Antonio doing it, screw it

Leonard officially opts out, will probably seek the 4+1 max with the Clippers but i like the 1+1 for him too assuming he can rehab

Paul opts out, we shall see! ball in Sarver’s court

I'd take a flyer on Collins. Get him to Deerland and get him working with Suki.

Looks like Mavs plan to resign Hardaway Jr. I think that’s big but they need a strong #2/upper #3 guy in free agency. I mean maybe we already got that in Zinger and new coaching will help him have a better year but I’d like a backup in case that doesn’t happen

i guess New Orleans didn’t lose Ball for nothing, technically!!! good work by Chicago though i’m not sure how the hard cap affects them off the top of my head

    David Griffin stinks

i expected this Allen deal for Cleveland at 5/100 but damn it is crazy. in a few years we’re gonna look at that as the worst deal of the year probably

Detroit with a solid move with Olynyk but obviously it will get hate

New York wastes no time lol not sure i love those 3 year deals but hey those are important guys. some flexibility left too

Hardaway at 4/74 isn’t terrible, i imagine this takes them out of the Lowry sweepstakes. now they can hope for second tier guys like Batum or Oubre?

2/17 for Jamychael Green and 2/32 for Barton...good work by Denver but better work by the agents. that really doesn’t move the needle for me. like Green, don’t love Barton, now they have limited flexibility to get better, with Porter’s star rising
