Switch is incredible. Never gets old.

i think its heavily rumored/ implied next holiday season there will be a new console

But there in lies the dilemma. Things like Mario Odyssey is just as good as any 3d mario game like Mario 64 for the switch and you could be playing them right now if you got it.... but at the same time games like Odyssey 2 will prob be released on the new console and are you going to be mad at yourself you jumped the gun on the older console vs just waiting for the newer one at that point?

I want a Switch solely for access to the N64, Sega, Super Nintendo and NES titles.

I'd just consider an emulator at that rate, if that's the only draw. Better than $300-$350 on the Switch + the $50 annual membership. Assuming you have a computer made after like 2009, you can run pretty much any game from those classic systems.

Im willing to bet youd be surprised on what else it has to offer though too.

Obviously playing all those is an added bonus/ perk for the switch.

But the actual games designed for the switch like Zelda/ Mario Odyssey/ Mario Wonder, could quite literally be the best they have ever made out of any console.

Even like Mario Kart, although techincally still a Wii game, i find more fun with the newer graphics/ levels than 64s version despite the nostalgia.

Portability is a big feature, but when I say solely for the reason of playing older games I’m exaggerating slightly.

I’ve used emulators but you’re bound to your PC which makes multiplayer non-existent.

Yeah, there are definitely titles I would purchase on occasion.

I got one of these controllers recently-

    https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/pr...64-controller/

Brings back a ton of nostalgia playing Mario 64 with this controller.

Played Mario Wonder all over Christmas break. What an absolute blast.

I think I still have a couple secret levels to find.

Re: New Nintendo console in 2017

I finished the main quest line of Tears of the Kingdom last weekend after starting the game in November and spending a lot of time finishing the shrines and grinding armor pieces. I was pretty surprised to see that I was only 53% done after finishing the main quest since I had every shrine done, like close to 30 lightroots in the Depths done, and tons of the side quests and caves done. It's those Korok seeds that make up most of what's left. It's kind of obscene how many of those there are. I'm going to wrap up the last few side quests I have, maybe grind a couple more armor pieces, explore more of the depths a little more, and then probably be done. I've fought all of the main monsters (Lynels, Gleeoks, etc.) multiple times. Those Silver Lynels are no joke. Even with an 88 level armor set they still do quite a bit of damage.

I completely loved playing the game. The huge world to explore is amazing like it was in Breath of the Wild and there is just an unbelievable amount of stuff to collect and find. My 5 year old son also really enjoyed watching me play. I'm almost tempted to replay Breath of the Wild just so he can have a game to continue watching me play. Probably looking at picking up Mario Wonder soon though.

My kids got me TotK for Christmas and I haven't started it yet. I should get on that.

Been playing that online all day. It's like being on mushrooms lol. Wish the game was longer though. Hopefully they do some updates.
