I say this with all due respect...
I know we're all fans of this band, and of Roi, but this is being pretty dramatic, and a little too narrow minded for my tastes. Roi is not one of the last figures to make music "the right way." There are plenty of amazing musicians out there who do their own thing, are extremely talented, and work at it day in and day out. Yes, his playing touched many fans, but let's not OVER state the case.
One of my favorite musician's won the first Grammy there was... and hardly anyone remembers him. It doesn't piss me off. It doesn't surprise me anymore. As many DMB fans as there are, not all of them can list the band members. This isn't that big of a surprise to me.
No where, in all of my wildest dreams, could I see this as being an intentional slight against fans, the band, or Roi himself. They don't HAVE anything to apologize for. The fan base is mad. The rest of the world is not.
