Not completely true, it was big when we had the vegas soundcheck only but yeah, the IEM was the same exact thing as far as what it meant to the community. Didn't mean it was any closer to coming to fruition as a real song, didn't mean it was recorded or soundchecked more than twice.

this thread was made 3 months ago and the song sucks just as bad now as it did then. there is no hope for it to become better. i hope to god the band pulls the musical plug on this snooze-worthy pile.

I've been listening to this song a lot recently. I never really listened to this or Falling off the roof when they both came out (or were SC'd).

Run While we can is awesome. I can only imagine what it would be like with Tim involved. The guitar riff is hypnotizing -- an amazing melody. I am a big fan of the lyrics as well. I think this is the best melody outside of Shotgun that they have done in 5 years.

I think the problem with it is that it's such a slow song that the crowd would never really get into it -- which makes it a rough live song. I also don't like how they did the outro.

Unfortunately, I think this song is gone for good.

This is another one of those songs that is so simple yet haunting / beautiful on the guitar. Its the lost puppy of the 2006 songs. I always wondered why Can't Stop was played and this song was not. I would rank it 2nd out of the 2006 songs

    Break Free
    Break For It
    The Idea of You
    Kill The King
    Shotgun
    Can't Stop
    Sister

    Great thread OP

great post op, but i feel like an indepth look at the lyrics for a song like this is a little over the top since there are some lyrical differences between the studio ish copy and the soundcheck version, that being said, i love the overall lyrics for the song and if it was polished up a little bit i would love to see this come out live or studio, both actually haha

I really like this song. I was just playing along with it while listening and trying to figure out how to make it more of an actual finished song. I think that after the second chorus when Dave repeats the line "oh, you've got me" if they kept playing on that part and really built it up to the point where Dave is almost doing a wail with the same line and strumming very fast along with a 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2 rhythm until the song is about to break and then going into the chorus for the final time with Rashawn doing the muted trumpet over it, it could become something really epic.

just realized that the end of this song, where they're all singing "who farted" sounds a lot like rolling stones "fool to cry"

Miss this song and the hype surrounding the alleged-turned-actual janky cell phone video of this tune in Vegas.

I love this song. So much so, I thought I made a decent cover with a tab you can find in the musicians forum. I would jump for joy if this tune showed up on the new record.

I love this song too, and feel so fortunate to have seen it live. Every recording that I have heard of it has Dave saying that he really likes it, which makes it even more frustrating that they have only played it 7 times! If he really likes this song, then how does he feel about freakin' Jimi Thing! I too wish it would show up on the new album and / or upcoming tour. That would be fantastic.
