I shouldn't have messed around! People are anxious for goodies with the lack of news from official channels on all fronts.

The unreleased studio cuts referred to the New Album haha. Sorry to get hopes up! Though it would be wonderful (if anyone in a position to make it happen is reading this) if they gave us some of the BTCS studio demos.

Amen. The last few years of Sun Ra releases have been pretty great, especially the ORG titles. Did you get Live in Roma '77?

this was my original prediction for 2018 as well. New albums these days always get a cd, vinyl and digital release. BTCS is due for its 20th anniversary treatment. And the next logical RSD release is the next live album in chronological order, being Listner Supported.

Sometimes, when you know things based on relationships, and you broadcast that info publicly and specifically, you don't get the opportunity to know things anymore. That's why people give hints that "things are coming" but don't say what and when. And some people don't actually know anything so they make vague teaser remarks so you think they know people behind the scenes, when they really don't.

But telling people that "something is coming" doesn't really help anyone. I promise you more vinyl is on the way too and I don't have any sources - it's not news. What good is it that us "commoners" know that a few people on message boards have a little inside information that they can't share? It's just people wanting to feel cool.

I would advise you to look at people who want you to know "something is coming" may not know anything, they just want to sound like they do. Ignore them.
Others will tell you "pretty cool release that we are all looking forward to coming in the back half of this year, unload that OG BTCS vinyl now if you want to get any value out of it". I'd put more stock in those.

I apologize if I upset anyone with the goofy little hints I posted to Aforauer last night. I was goofing around, while also being semi-serious. But I apologize if that upset anyone.

What we know for sure is that there is a new album coming out and in all likelihood it will be pressed to vinyl. We don't have much in the way of details of timing (on the album in general), mastering, pressing, variants, etc.

We also can be fairly confident that BTCS is coming this year. With the success of UTTAD and Crash on vinyl (I believe the former is actually close to going Out of Stock at many places and the prices have been climbing for a standard/non-mispress copy), it would be foolish to think they wouldn't continue the studio album releases. And yes, when it comes out, it will absolutely blow away the original 1998 pressing.

Finally, there are likely other releases in the works for this year and beyond. Chad and others have alluded to this potential. I don't think anyone giving vinyl specific hint intend to be vague as a way to dangle a "I know something you don't know!" in front of anyone. But snake911 is right when he notes that some of these things are touchy and publicly disclosing much more than generic hints could lead to less information being available in the future. And yes, some people are just blatantly full of shit - like when we get one of those "a guy I know sent me this email with tracklisting for the new album!" type things.

Anyways, I know some of this is some frustration from the lack of any band related news in a while (Boyd, new Album, BTCS, etc), but I'd hope the flow of information picks up as we make it through spring and get into the swing of the tour.

Seriously though, it’s easy to see and understand why people share what they can and don’t what they can’t. They’re not putting stuff out there to taunt you. If you are bothered by that then either ignore the hints or accept them and grow up.

Oh, and the next vinyl release won’t be something you would’ve expected or anyone around here has probably even asked for. How’s that for being cool and knowing stuff?
