Spinoff: Songs you SHOULD hate, but that you love

After reading a few pages of #41Tom's post I though the inverse would be interesting to see as well.

What are some songs considered "bad", or otherwise generally disliked, that you can't help but to love?

Mine's probably Dreamgirl. Studio, live, with long intros or without. I like it but I know most hate that song with some level of passion.

I know everyone hates Angel... but I don't mind it. Even though I hate the album it's on with the fiery passion of a thousand suns.

I also think the lyrics to Gaucho are good while every seems to shit on them. I just think most can't get past the chorus.

I don't know if Old Dirt Hill is as universally reviled anymore as it was the year it came out (they really toned down the drum machines, made it more guitar-based, etc.), but I've always liked it, even in 2005.

ODH from Radio City is bliss. Not huge on it full band, but I'd be lying if I said the song doesn't shine D&T

Good shout with the spinoff. Dreamgirl live was an absolute beast. I'd prefer to see that (till 2008) than a LOT of classics.

Loved Mother Father since the first time I heard it. The Warehouse version with Santana is ridiculously underrated. Wish it would come back, not as a staple but 5-8x a tour would be cool.

Is Stolen Away that unpopular? I’ve always liked it and thought it was one of the more DMB-sounding songs off that album (except for the drums, obviously).

I also really like OOMH. There were some cool (seemingly) improv lyrics thrown in towards the end of the SPAC D&T performance last year that worked really well.

I love Mercy. I went through a dry DMB period where I didn't listen to them for a while, didn't get to see shows, and didn't even buy AFTW when it came out. When I finally got around to hearing that album I didn't realize how much scorn Mercy was getting from the online fanbase and just thought it was a sweet tune.
