100% agree. I posted this earlier in another thread, but wanted it heard here:
This is the most excited I have been in quite some time. I have had a recurring dream since 2008 when he left where he is back in the band. As weird as that is. Butch brings out the old school acoustic DMB sound. Tim is too electric at times. Not complaining about Tim, but Butch is my kind of DMB sound. I miss the Bartender jams, the Jimi Thing scats, LIOG solo's, and Warehouse with keys. I hope to God he makes a reunion in 2018. He apparently wants to based on his Tweets. I would freak out. I'd easily add 3 shows to my normal 5.
I miss the Rapunzel keys a lot as well. And Butch backup harmonies. Give me some Stay.
My thoughts from the show tonight: I gave a very loud round of applause when Dave introduced Butch. My apartment neighbors probably hate me. They definitely snubbed Butch from the live stream. You likely wouldn't know he was there unless you were a big DMB fan looking for him. Warehouse was sweet with the keys back in it. I heard those organs on Seven tonight and it just adds another level to the song (more like the album cut).
