What a fucking show! I had peeked at the set list a few weeks ago so I knew Opiate was coming but it was damn good. I do wish they had played more from the earlier albums but that’s not a complaint. They don’t have a bad song in the catalog.


Treacherous drive down with black ice, spun out, flipped over vehicles, etc. From where I met my friends in Manchester, it should’ve taken us an hour to get to Boston. Took 2. Made it in time though!

Glad you made it there and back safe! The set lists do change a little. I didn’t get Opiate in Tampa..I got Sober, Eon Blue Apocalypse and The Patient.
Invincible is a hell of a closer. Agreed though..what a fucking show!

Yeah, that’s what I remembered about the set… it was either going to be Opiate or Sober. I was kinda hoping Sober for my friends since there really weren’t.a lot of ‘popular’ songs in the set. But Opiate was just incredible!

The other thing I noticed is that James did some minor phrasing tweaks with songs. I usually find it annoying when singers do this b/c it throws off the song. But his choices were awesome. I can’t really describe it or pinpoint an exact spot where he did this I just remember being like ‘yeeeah, I dig that!’.

The crowd was pretty chill too. There was a lady sitting next to me, she wasn’t fucked up but she was just had that ‘wow… what am I witnessing?’look on her face. There were times I forgot I was even in a crowd.

I never knew that solo during the breakdown of Invincible was done on bass.
Then it all falls apart until you’ve just got Adam Jones playing that riff.
Just badass…all I can say.

Whoever ok'd this is an absolute ass. 5 one-sided, one-track discs for an album like this is complete nonsense, and the mark-up for autographs is outrageous.

I believe there will be a standard release, but the longer they wait, the more the endless bootleg copies will saturate the market. This is, I believe, an all analog release cut by Chris Bellman, but the % of the Tool-fan vinyl market that cares is likely to be a fairly small fraction. Meaning that if someone already has a good-enough sounding bootleg, they're going to have a bad time trying to get them to re-up on an official release (especially if the pricing is out of line with the market).

To make it even funnier, it’s only made available to people with VIP Tool fan club/tickets. So you’re already like $1k-$1500 in the hole.

There are rumors of an April release to us regular folks. So, we’ll see what the price is like then.

They will be releasing the vinyl set to the masses in April. That was included in the announcement about selling the package to VIP now. However, I don't believe there will be a standard edition; it will be the 5 LP edition with one side of each LP etched with artwork when it is released in April.

Just snagged tickets for the show in Newark tonight. Know exactly what songs are coming and totally fine with that. Going to enjoy my second TOOL show with my son. He is way deep into TOOL and Puscifer. Probably going to snag tickets for the Puscifer show in Brookly in June. $50 per ticket in a small theater setting.

yeah, O got it the band just before Fear was released. We saw them back in Nov 2019 in Newark and he loved it. Since then, he has gone through the entire Perfect Circle catalogue, then Puscifer. He enjoys the latter more. He also loves System of the Down, Gojira, NIN, Slipknot, early Metallica, to name a few.

Saw Tool in Grand Rapids last night. First time seeing them…been a big fan since Undertow. Was surprised how many people I saw walk away with a $750 vinyl. The no camera/video policy was actually pretty cool…to not see everyone on their phone for 95% of the show. I did see 3 different people get removed for being repeat offenders. Security seemed to be clear that you get a single warning. Prior to last song of night Maynard “ok…for this last song I will ask security to stand down and all you assholes can pull out your cells phones all you want - but if any of you in the front row turn on your flash I am going to shit in your mouth. I’m fucking serious”

I'm going to the Chicago show tonight. Shitty seats, but free ticket so not going to complain. All I want to hear is Right in Two which they haven't played the last 2 shows so I think it will happen tonight. Also looking forward to seeing how different the visuals are compared to when I saw them in 2019.

I didn’t have great seats either but the entire stage is basically a visual and the sound was excellent from where I was. I’d say you have a decent change of catching Right in Two unless they decide to throw Undertow out there again. I would’ve loved that!

Lateralus has some great songs but at the same time, it annoys the shit out of me with all the interludes of noise. It has the most of any Tool album.

Other than those little annoying noisettes they throw on albums, there’s really no letdown. It’s amazing really.

Yeah, honestly, you can’t go wrong with a pick. I don’t know of any other band with such a flawless discography. They don’t have a bad song (I mean, other than the noisettes which I don’t really count ).
