No it was not all GA, GA started at row 40 or 50 I think. I was lucky enough to have row 9 and row 11 tickets. My buddy and I coincidentally sat next to the same 60 year old couple both nights — That was a cool “show story.”

Fun time, that venue is somewhat of a shitshow logistics wise tho I will say that. I can’t imagine DMB playing there with how the fanbase acts.

The times I’ve been to red rocks since it reopened they had scaled back services quite a bit. Not all bars and concessions and bathrooms were open.

Maybe that was it. I’ve always navigated it ok but maim just used to the chaos. It can definitely be a free for all and people police themselves. Especially GA shows.

Just the whole idea of small parking lots getting full quick and people just start parking along the road up the side of the mountain, making the traffic issues even worse.

We Ubered and got to the base entrance of the mountain at I think 5:45 and it took us close to 1 hour and 30 mins to get to the top.

And inside, concessions/bathrooms were OK, just no ushers or any organization was alarming (just not used to it) and yes you sort of have to police yourselves. With a Dead crowd that is fine, with a DMB crowd there would be drunk people fighting left and right.

I want to go back, I just would make sure to arrive at the venue a solid 2 hours before, which we did night 2 and even still wasn't an easy in.

Still a great experience overall, you are right on top of the band there, 9th row felt like 3rd row.

    This is all fair.

I usually go to GA shows so am there early for doors at 5. We get into upper south easily which is at the bottom of the ramp stage right.

DMB in 2005 didn’t seem too bad.

You do do a ton of walking. Sprained ankles are a real thing.

I usually don’t go to the top but when we rent a bus they sometimes drop, you off at the very bottom and the walk is really long and hard. Especially day 3 in the 95 degree heat/sun.

Billy is out too. Rough for the band. I honestly think they should have cancelled these shows.

Sounds like they wanted to but the venue wouldn't let them out. I have no doubt it'll be a nice weekend, I mean warm weather, open bar and delicious buffets with a Bob Weir show every night, plus Margo Price is phenomenal. But it'd be a major disappointment if you came in expecting D&C and got this.

I didn’t realize that about the venue. I guess it will be the same for Phish too in that case. I wonder how many people are going to get stuck in Mexico with positive tests.

I have a co-worker stuck in the Bahamas in this exact situation. Completely asymptomatic. Could be worse I suppose.

Yea thats infringing on Fyre Festival level.

I can’t imagine being in Riviera (which if I understand correctly is at least an hour drive from closest major airport) just to find out that they canceled. It takes a whole lot to get me mad. But having vacation plans canceled in a foreign country after I’m already there would probably unhinge me.

So far panic has not cancelled their mexico dates. I think it’s the same stage a week apart.

Lots of tickets in Facebook though for sale.

Oh, haha. I thought he was saying that "panic" (about Covid) could cause the cancellation. Since we're in the GD thread it didn't cross my mind that he was referring to WP. Carry on!

After Bonnaroo was cancelled last year as I was packing my car, I can sympathize with these people. Granted, not traveling to another country, but having something ripped from your hands so close to the fact. It's brutal. I was in an absolute funk for close to a week. At least they're getting a free vacation out of it, even if there's no Dead.

How are Bob & Wolf Bros? I have a ticket for when they come to town but I'm thinking about upgrading to one of the premium seats. It includes a seat in the first two rows, soundcheck invitation, show poster, early access to merch, two drinks and "one premium merchandise gift (which I assume is a shirt)."

Just curious if it'd be wroth it for the price tag. I'm really tempted but I haven't listened to any Wolf Bros.

Wolf bros is not very good tbh. I dont like that I had to drop 90 on a ticket, but cant pass up seeing bob in a small venue.
