Anyone excited for this yet? They seem to be holding back a lot about the show. So while it hasn’t built the hype for me, I bet that will change week to week.

no worries, just busting chops. What are the rules for spoilers in here? So it looks like there are only 7 episodes, so there is not going to be a slow, long build for stories IMHO as it sounds like they'll need to get right into it. Robert Rodriguez and Bryce Dallas Howard are some of the directors, how did BDH get hooked up with this and the Mandalorian from a director's perspective? Anyways, looks intriguing.

Excited for this will. I'll probably watch the first episode Wednesday night.

My suggestion for spoilers, give everyone three days to watch the new episode then enter and read at your own risk?

Watched this morning. It was alright. Nothing too special. Setup episode with lots of backstory.

Felt about th same. Seems they used the same fight scene choreographers as Loki.

This about sums about it up but excited to see where it goes. It was very cool to see him on screen again, but I was surprised by how slow this was. Hoping it picks up quickly, 7 episodes (at 30-40 min each) isn't much time.

It was ok. Not a big fan of the action scenes, they all felt like they were too choreographed and very slow. A lot of it just looked like a low budget fan film which I didn’t like. Nothing really hooked me to keep me tuning in every week apart from it being a Boba Fett show

Agreed, the monster thing he fought was one of the least imaginative creatures I think I've ever seen come out of any SW movie/show.
Robert Rodriguez is a horrible director, 95% of the stuff he's directed over his career has been trash. If he's going to be the main show runner for every episode we shouldn't have real high expectations.

Yep. I was very "meh" on the first ep. Hopefully the pace picks up a bit.

it was fun but I agree with the sentiment in here...the monster was stupid (and do we need a monster every other episode of Mando/BF?), the fight scenes were slow looking...I'll keep watching though because I like being in this universe

Finally got around to watching this. Agree with the general consensus in here re the monster and fight scenes.

There just hasn't been anything that's grabbed me and pulled me into the world yet.

And to be honest I was a little disappointed in the escape from the sarlacc. Not sure what I was expecting; but something more dramatic than what we got.

I knew we would get the answer to how he escaped the sarlaac pit, and it did not disappoint. I enjoyed the first episode. It was a good appetizer. If it doesn't ramp up by the end of next week I'll start to worry.

Im probably in the minority on this one but I could've done without them showing how he got out of the sarlacc. It felt like one of those things that could be left without showing to create some mystery. Maybe have a one or two line throwaway that just says he did what he had to do.

Much like the kessel run, it just sucked the mystery out of it and was unnecessary.

    agree with this.

Re: the kessel run- nobody really knows what that was to begin with. Escaping the Sarlaac, there was no "mystery"...if he escaped it basically means he burned his way through and out

I'm overall very pleased with the first episode. I don't mind the monster, a little cheesy sure but I expect that from anything Star Wars, and I thought the use of minimal dialog to establish where we are was well done. I agree that all of the fight scenes seemed oddly sluggish, as did the parkour chase. But Boba Fett is one of the more intriguing minor characters from the OT and I'm along for this ride.

Much like the kessel run, it just sucked the mystery out of it and was unnecessary.
I pretty much agree with you - I think it was better left not shown. Especially the contrived "hand bursting through the sand" thing.
