A minor gripe for sure but I hate how bright Tatooine is in this show. It looks to clean and white when it’s always looked dirty and warm and yellow in it’s other appearances. It’s like the twin suns converted to LED and I don’t like it

I loved The Mandalorian, but some of their casting choices were god awful. Especially Carl Weathers, Bill Burr, Haratio Sanz, Amy Sedaris. Imo those were are horribly mis-cast roles. And I feel the same way about the actor they've cast for Fennec Shand. She's supposed to be this bad ass, femme fatale assassin and the actor just does not pull it off whatsoever. Gina Carano might've been a god awful actor but at least she looked the part. There's nothing that says bad ass/killer with this Fennec role at all.

She looks like a middle aged Asian woman who lives in suburbia USA that drives a minivan. And she tries to have this mean scowl on her face while she's spouting these lines that sound completely ridiculous coming out of her mouth like she's some threat or some figure of authority, I literally roll my eyes at every scene shes in. Any time she's on screen it completely takes me out of the story. I was glad she wasn't hardly in this episode at all. But there's been tons of other female actors that have been fantastic in this type of role over the years that I'm sure would've loved the opportunity to play this role and completely killed it, yet they chose a 60 yr old soccer mom.

Damn really? She’s one of my favorite characters.

It’s not like this type of role is new for her she was Melinda May on Shield

But was 100% a strange casting but every time he was on screen I laughed. Just an angry Boston dude flying around star wars

Love that Wookie, Black Krrsantan, was excited to see him. He's from the comic series that came out in 2015.

Ep 2 was a major step up and much more enjoyable. I forget which Legends book I read that humanized the Tuskens and I remember thinking that was really cool. Glad they brought that into this episode. Hope at some point one of them takes their mask off so we can have it in canon what they look like.

But I did get to wondering, I know they'll converge but there's 2 stories happening now. I wonder if when they were planning on this being a movie, one of the stories was the main storyline. Like his voyage to The Mandalorian, but they changed their mind because the story couldn't carry on it's own.

Cool too how they had so many Trandoshens in the scene leading up to that reveal. Surely that's going to come into play given how fabled the Wookies and Trandoshens rivalry is.

Much better episode than episode 1 in my book. I can't help but think that kid is going to be really important to the current timeline arc. At least I hope so, every time they cut to him running up a sand dune I wince thinking he's gonna get it, then I think surely they won't kill a kid on Star Wars.

I liked how they kind of kept with the western motif they imaged in the first series. Mandalorian was a bit serial/spaghetti western but this had a more modern day Dances With Tuskens feel to it.

To my credit there has never been a kid/child alien killed on screen in Star Wars to my knowledge. It's either insinuated or mentioned off screen later.

Not Just the Men, but the Women and Children Too! Even tougher look for AS after that humanization of the Tuskens.

Chapter 2 was better than Chapter 1. Hutts still look like shit in CGI. You'd think after 20 years they'd improve on that.

Love the aesthetic of the show. Feels like Star Wars in the way Madalorian does, but damn it’s fucking boring. Agreed on the Hutts. Thought for sure if they’d do something like that they’d have done puppets. They’ve been good with that post-prequels.

It has to be difficult to do CGI like that in a daylight scene, but they did look more on the scene and not in the scene

They should have done puppets. And the amount of money going into these shows has to be pretty significant. The technology that Favreau has been getting into with VR sets and how they shoot the different settings is really something. If anything they save in location costs and could put that toward making live action Hutts. I was disappointed by that.

The entire idea of a Hutt waving a little fan and the other wiping his brow with a rat(?), like a southern lawyer while being carried around on a platform is preposterous to begin with.

This is where I'm at. It's Boba Fett, I'm GOING to watch. But, for as hyped as I was, a little boring so far. Ch. 2 was a step up, so we'll see.

The pacing with the flashback scenes is odd. I wish they would have just committed to the first episode of showing us all the flashback stuff, get us caught up, and go from there. The fact that in the present day timeline all he's done is sit on the throne and walk into town (twice) is just not what I was expecting at all.

I agree. The cuts are odd. It's telling two stories. They're likely going to connect in the end, but right now it only feels only semi-related.
