Why does it upset you that people are hoping for shows? Let people be optimistic. It’s certainly more interesting and fun to participate in as opposed to ‘everything is screwed’, the viewpoint you seem to have.

So right now, the window is on Late July. The question is, do they expect 100% capacity shows at these venues in Late July. The answer for most large acts is a unequivocal No. That is why these venues are starting to announce cancellations or postponements for shows up through July.

If the band is seriously considering packing 25,000 Campers into The Gorge over Labor Dave Weekend, they probably have to make that call by the end of May, so roughly 6 weeks from now. The clock is ticking.

When people throw out examples of shows by bands incapable of filling a large venue to more than 50 or 60% capacity, it's meaningless. DMB is not such an act. DMB is a 100% capacity event. NH Pavilion has said as much.

We are close to approaching the point, where the only viable option other than a socially distanced Dave & Tim tour, would be to postpone all the shows with tickets sold, to 2022, and set up a brand new itinerary of shows with less than 100% capacity. Exactly like what is being done for lots of other shows and sporting events. Unfortunately, I don't think they would go that route, since it won't bring in enough revenue to make it viable. It would be a nice gesture, but if it's about the $$$$$, you can forget any chance of it happening, unless the venues and acts come to some sort of agreement where they both take less than they normally would, in order to have shows.

I would think it's likely a decision will be made on whether to proceed within the next 2-6 weeks, and that's when we'll likely know for sure whether they plan on having shows starting in September. I'd put that chance at no more than 40%, and that # will either rise over the next few weeks, or fall.

Praying that if the schedule gets revamped they add a 2022/2023 Alpine Valley date.....I cant go that many years without visiting that place.

No, I do not enjoy this. But right now, everything is kind of screwed. Believe what you will, if it helps you sleep better at night, but we arent seeing DMB in 2021.

For those of you that have tickets to some of these shows even say late July / early August - do you have rooms booked / places to stay? Or are you assuming that's pointless right now? I have no idea whether I should book a reservation for SPAC or assume that would be a waste of time (right now I kinda thing it's a waste of time if it's anything pre-labor day).

I have everything booked for SPAC and the Gorge. I imagine I'll end up cancelling at least SPAC, but I paid for the reservation with points and its fully refundable. Really no reason not to book in that scenario, especially with the whole town jacking up prices and completely selling out when DMB is in town.

Obviously you shouldn't book anything non-refundable, but Saratoga is a town where literally every hotel room could sell out. Definitely worth it to book something IMO even with the very slim chance of the shows happening as planned

I have been tracking Saratoga hotel prices over the still scheduled DMB 2021 weekend. At present, prices that weekend are as high, if not higher than they have been over years past. I assume there is significant pent up demand for NYC and other urbanites to get out of town after all we have been through over the past year. No present deals.

You know what waiting a little longer leads to? Waiting a little longer after that.

There’s not going to come a day where Fauci or Biden come on TV and say “alright folks, that’s it!! Pandemic is over!! As you were.” That’s not how this ends. It’s simply a gradual matter of learning to live with Covid. To those who say “the vaccine is ONLY 95% effective”, I’m sorry to say but that’s as good as it’s gonna get, at least for the next few years. Cases will continue to rise and fall for a good while, regardless of what happens. People are getting vaccinated, life is moving on. You don’t want the risk, don’t go. There’s always a risk in doing anything. You could take every precaution there is, and still choke to death on your dinner. You could be like that poor man who died at the DMB St.Louis show a couple years ago.

Guys I got official word the tour is on... Like I previously posted the band will be starting the tour Mid July and going into November with dates in June and July postponed. I hope to know the official dates soon but I believe the tour will be starting in Raleigh and I am pretty sure SPAC will happen in Sept!!!
