The pandemic has ended. Costco is giving out samples again.

And if you have your Fauchi Ouchy then you don't even need to wear a mask. You can shovel the food directly into your pie hole.

You guys are so wrong... and SO f'ing funny! Thank you for making the 2nd 1/2 of the pandemic bearable with everyone here's info, wisdom, sympathy, indignation, and absolutely HUMOR!

Thanks to all y'all. (I say 2nd half because I wasn't on this site much during 1st half)

Route 2, if we ever end up at a show together, please wear a really obvious sign that you are you so I wave from ACROSS the stadium and don't end up playing drunken twister or something with your doorknob-licking self.

And yes, there will be drunken twister at DMB shows this year. Legit vax carded people only.

I haven't been worried about any of the variants, but the delta variant has me slightly concerned. Hopefully this doesn't set us too far back.

I'm glad you mentioned it, I have fallen out of that news loop and didn't realize it really was continuing to spread here in the US like that. Grateful that my kid was old enough to get vaxxed, but I still also know several people who will not get vaxxed, so the proximity to people who could still get Covid after all we know is there.

Not overly worried about it so far, and hopefully it'll stop gaining ground soon.

Dropped out of Novavax and got the first Pfizer shot yesterday. It is absolutely kicking my butt. Had some fatigue, muscle pain and chills before bed. Passed out on the couch and woke up with a fever. Still rolling with a low-grade fever this AM. Hella nervous for what shot #2 is gonna bring.

Are you concerned because it is spreading among unvaccinated adults or is it having a greater impact on vaccinated adults? Or does your concern have something to do with children?

Not a huge amount of info but if five out of the six who tested positive ended up hospitalized and two died it seems like bad news.

    Bad news, but also:

"The only exposed employee in the IT office who was vaccinated did not get infected, Hopes said."

That article is terrifying, because these are unvaccinated government officials.

    Florida is the literal worst.

How people read this and still refuse to get vaccinated is beyond me. On the plus side I’ve been vaccinated since late December.

I got both. They did a crossover to prevent from unblinding us. I tested positve for antibodies after my first round. I felt absolutely nothing after I got the second two shots. When I called to leave the study she confirmed that I got the real deal in Feb/March.

Am I the only one who reads this and doesn’t really care, or think it’s bad news?
At the stage in the game, if you are choosing not to get vaccinated, I literally don’t care what happens to you, and it should only be “news” in an effort to highlight the importance of the vaccine.

(Obvious disclaimer that I mean if you’re eligible and don’t get vaccinated).

Just had my eye exam. I skipped last year and ordered an annual supply of contacts from the UK (since you didn’t need a valid script, but I believe that ended Dec 31 2020).

    Holy shit that sucked.
We had to of course still wear masks, but every time you go near the little machines / vision checker, it just instantly fogs.
And picking glasses? I had to point from a distance, someone would hand them to me, and I’d have to go in a private room where I could take my mask off.
    What a production.

But at least I’m caught up on all my exams that I skipped last year.

In the abstract and in reference to random people in random news story I agree. In real life, I have a brother who is not vaccinated and although my relationship with him is a constant struggle due to some of his views, I definitely do care what happens to him.

    Right. Understandable.

More like, this shouldn’t be news at this point. We don’t need an article telling us about what can happen if you get Covid. It should have had more emphasis on the importance of the vaccines.

I went through this process recently too and it was great. I didn't have any issue with machines fogging up.

Also got to pick out the frames I liked online before going in to try on glasses. They had them all pulled out and waiting. Then tried them on in a room without my mask.

    Was flawless, tbh.

I'm not going to care if someone isn't vaccinated. Unless you have a legit medical reason (and if you do, please wear masks and don't live it up) you get zero sympathy from me if you end up in the hospital or dead.
