Saw David Ryan Harris, John's touring guitarist, do a solo gig last night. It's insane how their speech cadence and even overall tone sound so similar to John's. Plus his style of music was identical to John's. I can see why he picked him up for his band.

That vinyl looks cool, but man the rest of that merch is awful. Leaning way too hard into the 80s thing there.

Part 3 of the Best of 2019 tour was posted last night, and audio download links were also posted. The creator notes that a part 4 is coming July 9th. The guys who put these together have done a really nice job on them:

Mayer posted this album is only 40 mins long. So basically we’ve already heard about 40% of it. That’s very disappointing.

considering how much this album has been hyped/marketed for the past couple months, it's a little disappointing, but the songs so far have been good. hopefully the other 60% is too.

That's to be expected though. He doesn't typically have super long studio albums. We already knew the track list wasn't huge. I prefer a nice tight album, even if that means we have heard 40% of the album.

Sob Rock will be perfect for that. Finishing All I Want Is To Be With You this album is a vibe. Such a great effort.

Every song is super pleasant and enjoyable, but as an album it feels light and underwhelming, at least on my first two listens.

From around the 8:30 mark till about 11:45 he talks about Why You No Love Me. And I kinda got the impression from the answers John gave he was insinuating the song was about an either Parent or Grandparent figure in his life. But when I listen to the song I don't really get that vibe...

Kind of underwhelming for me. Nice pleasant listen but not much is really taking hold after a couple of listens. Very mellow record. Wild Blue is really cool and the guitar work on Til the Right One Comes is great. A bit too many ballads for my tastes and Why You No Love Me is pretty cringe.

I picked up the vinyl from Target this morning. It looks great in the Coke bottle clear green as advertised. It's 180g with nice square/clean edges. Side A is a little noisy for me after using a sticky roller. I'll put it through the spin clean someday. The mix sounds ok on side A and better on B.
