There are way more "decent" songs on these records IMO. Even some real winners like The Architect, Tragedy in Waiting, Living in the End, and Place to Hide.
But these new songs are just bad. I want to like them. They're great guys and I want to support them, but damn. Combine mediocre-at-best songs with shitty pop production and this is what you get. It's so painfully obvious that they're trying to break into the modern pop space that gets radio airplay these days but I can't help but think the wiser decision would be to develop the sound that's gotten them a cult following and run with that.
It's like they still haven't come to terms with the fact that they're never playing MSG again. I've probably seen a ton of O.A.R. shows compared to most folks on here but I've definitely slowed down over the last few years. They went from having only a handful of "every night" songs (Poker, Hey Girl, Love and Memories) and now I have to sit through Peace, I Go Through, Heaven, etc. every show. Now Miss You All The Time and California will be added to that list...
