Can't you get the dudes in the golf carts to drive you right up to the gate? That's what we did the one time we stayed at the resort. That was the one thing that we enjoyed about it.

The resort is a game-changer. Being able to just take a nice little walk to and from eliminates the worst part of going to a large concert for me. So fun the able to continue the night back at the resort 10 minutes after the show instead of spending hours leaving and getting to your destination. Yea, the "resort" is more of a motel, but I've never been to concerned about the quality of the room by the time I'm ready for bed.

This will be my first year in a while not staying at the resort, bummer.

Checking out Alpine for the first time — long overdue! I've seen some campsites/resorts get mentioned, does anyone have a comprehensive take on what staying around AVMS is like? What each campground is like? Some do's and don'ts? We'll just be tent camping, so nothing fancy.

REALLY looking forward to this one. Is it July yet?

Make sure to take a stroll thru the bus lot during the tailgate. Just madness to witness first hand (in a fun way).

Greetings Loved Ones in the Midwest. I typically don't try to hit the "marquee" venues on a tour after a bad SPAC experience 20 years ago... but these dates work best for a road trip from Colorado. What typically happens through the Warehouse for this show in regards to actual seats in the pavilion? And how frequently can you find seats in the pavilion as the show nears? I'll sit lawn too, if that's the best we can do... but I thought it was worth asking. Thanks everyone.

If you aren't picky about your PAV seats and only need a couple you shouldn't have too much trouble. The best seats will be hard to find, but as long as you aren't way way far off to either side you will be in good shape. The energy in the PAV is incredible, I'd highly suggest just about anywhere in the PAV over lawn.

The pavilion is much smaller here than a lot of places, and basically any seat in the pavilion is good *except* seats that are really far to the left or right - So if you're in 201 or 203 you want your seat number to be below 60, give or take a seat. (In 201 and 203, the seats are numbered every other number - odds in 201 and evens in 203, so if you have seat 60, you are actually 30 seats down the row from the aisle.)

Those far side seats get dicey because the stage at Alpine is really big and for some reason whenever DMB plays there, they stack all kinds of equipment up on either side of the band, and if you're too far over, it can obstruct/cut off your view of Tim/Buddy if you're on the left of Fonz and the horns if you're on the right.

Anything in 202 is money. So 202, or 201/203 seat #'s below 60 you are golden.

Is the pit really big here? It's been 14 years since my last trip and I was only in the lawn both times. Is it out of the question to get 8 pit to either night via WH and/or TM?

This will be my first Alpine show since 2015, after not missing an Alpine show from 04-15. Silly friends asking me to stand up in their 4th of july wedding in 2016, needless to say I can't wait, missed this place so much.
Resort sold out crazy fast this year, I tried in December and it was already booked. The resort told me they are not doing a waiting list this year, and that you have to keep checking online. If anyone plans on canceling a room at the resort please let me know, I'd gladly take it and it would be greatly appreciated.

Sucks that they aren't doing any camping at the venue this year. Any camping recommendations will be appreciated! I know a few have posted some, and I plan on checking those out as well.

Just a heads up. Some in our group have said they called around and a lot are already booked full. Holiday weekend + DMB it’s pretty tough to get a spot

To answer your previous post though, I've stayed at Mcintyre's a couple times in Delavan. It's a decent little place, right on a lake. It's just private property so pretty relaxed. A bit disorganized at times as well though. Shuttles were a bit disorganized in 2015 and the parking situation really sucks. They make you park like a mile up the road in a farm field and walk back down. Porta potties and cold hose water showers. Cramped conditions and pretty much tent on tent.

Snug Harbor is across the lake and I have never stayed there personally but looks nice. Has actual showers and bathrooms, but it is a pricier option. They also have a bar/pub on site there.

From what I've heard from our group, Bark River is booked and so is Scenic Ridge.

We stayed there in 2015 as well! Had a good time but like you said the shuttle was a mess and some of the other little things like the parking and shower are making me want to try some place new

We booked Rome Riverside Camp. Real showers, portapotties but also real bathrooms too. Some sites have electrical and water as well. Paid 15/night/person for tent camping. 40/night/person for shuttle. Sounds like we can park right next to our campsite which is a huge plus for me

    Do they offer a shuttle?

    EDIT: Nvm. Quite the drive.

I'll sit lawn too, if that's the best we can do... but I thought it was worth asking. Thanks everyone.
In my experience, Pavilion can be tough to find as the shows get closer. Lawn is usually readily available. Even if the show sells out, there is a robust secondhand market in the lot. I have, on more than one occasion, shown up without tickets and had zero problems getting them there. Just arrive a little early and you'll be fine. That said, the lawn can be a little rough. It's kinda steep when you compare it to something like the Marcus (in Milwaukee) or Northerly Island (which can GDIAF). There are lots of drunk people. Blankets will be walked upon. You might have someone throw up near you. Generally a shitshow full of people who were tailgating for much of the day.

I've just placed my pavilion request and opted out of lawn. We'll see what happens, but I'm confident I can find lawn tickets later if need be, so I don't see the need to request them now.
