Looks like a great Festival. Anyone go last year? Leaning towards VIP at the moment.

I think I'm going to do this one. 1.5 hrs from me. Will wait for the rest of the lineup before pulling the trigger on a ticket, but this seems like an easy and relatively inexpensive add on. Also, kind of different seeing as it's on the beach.

I'm a teacher, so I'm obviously very fortunate/spoiled to be able to go to these shows and not think about work. Bethel is a random Wednesday so I probably won't be there...but SPAC, Jones Beach, and most likely this are gonna be awesome.

Was wondering if it would sell out or not. I assume VIP will pretty quickly

Usually not that motivated to see DMB at festivals because the setlists tend to be very casual fan friendly. With that said, I live in NYC so depending on the full line up may give it a shot.

They didn't last year. I could see them doing it this year with their headliners being bigger than last years though.

I think it's pretty cool that 5 and some years ago The Lumineers were opening for DMB, and now they're both headlining the same festival.

This is awesome! I live just 10 minutes from the beach the fest is held at. Anyone with Asbury Park questions, send them my way. Lots of great music, bars, breweries, restaurants, etc in the area. Also, if you’re looking to stay in the area, check out Ocean Grove on AirBnB. It’s a great little beach town less than a mile south of Asbury Park.

I was moving last year and was unable to go but I have a ton of friends who went. From what i understand it’s a very well run festival on the beach in Asbury Park, curated by Danny Clinch. Sounds like a winner all around - I bought an early bird ticket.

I went to Sea.Hear.Now last year, and it is a very well run festival. However I did VIP and it was a complete rip off as they lied about the complimentary beer at the VIP bars. It seems they corrected their verbiage this year at least.

Last year was it a Saturday / Sunday event. So their's show's until the Sunday night ?

Other then the Beer issue, how was VIP area? I'm more concerned with sight lines, how packed, etc

I looked for an AIRbnb in Ocean Grove, but there aren't that many that are affordable. Any other towns that are close that might be worth looking into?

I reserved a hotel at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Eatontown. Says its 4 miles away, but would like to be closer.

The main stage has the biggest VIP area (the other 2 stages are pretty small).
The sight lines are ok. Part of the main stage VIP is on the beach where there was a playground (which was nice to get a spot on as it had some elevation). One annoying thing was the some parents were just tossing their kids into VIP to play on the playground. Part of the boardwalk is also in this area which is also elevated, then there is another two level viewing area they have setup behind the boardwalk.

I never felt like the VIP was over packed, but it obviously does get crowded for the headliners.

I was wondering when someone was going to make this thread.

It sounds like a well run community festival. I live an hour from Asbury and have friends that live in there. So I'll will be going. Bought my tickets this morning, not sure if they will sell out but I'd rather play the lower price. It is such a small beach, it'll be fun to see a bunch of artist and the boys there!

Sad there is no PNC this summer, this makes up for it though. I'm thinking about flying out to NV to see them in Stateline.

I would look at all the towns on New Jersey Transit North Jersey Coast Line from Long Branch to Bay Head. You can take the train from there to Asbury Park. I don't live in that area anymore but some of them are Long Branch, Elberon, Allenhurst, Bradley Beach, Belmar, Spring Lake, Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach and Bayhead. The train station in Asbury is walking distance to the Festival.

The Hilton is pretty close. If you want to be closer than that, try Elberon, Deal, and Long Branch. They are the three towns directly north of Asbury on the shore. South of Asbury on the shore you can also try Belmar, Avon By The Sea, and Lake Como.
