Season 4 just came on demand for me and personally, that is my favorite season. It features alot of Christoper, whom is my favorite character. I like season 3 alot too, but 4 takes the cake. I have a feeling it will come down to these two.

I know there is already a Sopranos thread, but I just wanted to know what everyone thought. If its a problem, lock it up or merge it. No biggie.

I think 4 is one of the weakest....

i just recently started watching the sopranos, and havent seen seasons 5 or 6, but i love the show, and i think i like 2 or 3 the most.

seriously, that just ruined a lot of the first part of season 6 for me. it was so completely unnesessary

I'd have to say my faves in order would be:

2 > 1 > 3 > 5 > 4 > 6.

Hopefully they redeem themselves when the series comes back to wrap everything up. The first half of season six was like a steady hum with almost no climax whatsoever. Tony getting shot was a bit of a shocker, but I didn't really like where they took the story. Although I am one of the VERY few that loved the dream sequence episode from last year, don't ask me why.

Though 4 is near the bottom of my list, I think the season finale by itself is one of my favorite episodes. The fight between Tony and Carmela was one for the ages and I think was Edie Falco's finest acting on the series.

I don't know anyone that hated the dream sequence. I loved it. When he had the horse I was in tears laughing so hard.

i've watched this show on and off and the lastest few seasons dont compare to the early ones...

Well season 6 is up there merely so they are all considered. Personally, I was very let down. To think that originally, they planned to end the whole series like that is terrible. (Back before the movie idea and the "last 8" which are coming in March )

Between Season 3 and Season 4 is where teh show really took the big turn IMO. More focus on the drama and storyline instead of the "family" and killing people.

I like season 4 because it really builds up Christophers character, and kinda focuses on him alot more (addiction, dealing with tony, Adriana and the FBI) which was cool... but on the otherhand you lose alot of what the whole series is based upon...

My favorite seasons are the ones not spaced out by 18 to 24 month time gaps. That shit is getting real old. Pretty much didn't watch the last season at all. If they begin to replay it, I will just so I am caught up when the next season starts, in 2010.

On topic, season 2 or 3 for me.

Junior shoots Tony, Tony almost dies, he chills in purgatory for a while, magically survives and lives. Vito gets caught at a gay club by members of the family, runs away to New Hampshire or Rhode Island or something, Gets all gay with a cook, comes home and gets shot. AJ bangs a black chick with a kid and brings them to sunday dinner/christmas.

Season 6 in a nutshell. It was terrible.

Season 6 in a nutshell. It was terrible.

That pretty much sums it up minus a few details. Such as the bolded one, Vito didn't get shot, he got the shit beat out of him in a hotel room. And the way he got it created a rift between Tony's family and Johnny Sack's family to add onto the layers of beef they are already fighting about.

I liked 5.. Alot of people didn't. I mean its the first full blown season where the drama and the story completely take over from the killings and day in day out workings of the "family"... but it was still good IMO. Not better then the first 4 ahead of it though.
