Re: Da Bears

Hall of Fame Game tonight 7pm...I hope to see some good things, but I am guessing it will be majority scrubs. I'll check in tomorrow to see others opinions of the 1st and 2nd lines.

Bears defense looking decent. Getting pressure on the Dolphins' QB's.

Defense looked decent...too many penalties on the 2nd string. Was impressed with Orton, but have to tell myself that he was working against a #2-#3 defense. Rex looked good too. And Thomas Jones definately made his case. Benson is going to be kicking himself with the showing that Jones is giving.

Very impressed with Orton. Love the addition of muhammed, love it. that catch on the second drive they had was awesome. Bendon better get back to fucking reality before he loses his job all together. Jones looked good. real good. these fucking rookies and thier "holier than thou" attitude needs tot stop. College is NOT THE SAME as the NFL no matter how many different angles you look at it from. it bigger, faster, stronger, and much more in-depth with the play calling and picking up on blitzes, audibles, etc. Benson needs to either join the team or go play in europe. either way, i really dont give a packer, i mean shit. the D looked tough, though as mentioned before, way too many penalites on the second string. But it's cool, that's what preseason is for.

i'm sorry i can't agree with you on this one IMHO. Orton was THE heisman candidate last year until my team, michigan, kinda rolled him over and he was never the same after that. he's a rookie. let him get some experience. AKA, cade mcnown(sp?), Krenzel, etc. grossman is better than hutchinson anyway.

just wondering if the whole Orton issue is just preferance. I mean do you have any numbers to back up your stance. I have no problem with it, i'm just wondering why you feel that way.

I hate having a rookie Qb in his 3rd season now. We have seen nothing from this kid, and I have seen a whole lot of nothing from FL QB's in the past. I think of a recent Purdue QB, I think Brees, and I think of anothe Big Ten QB, Brady, not bad company. This kid can tghrow the ball down field, he can get out of the pocket. He WILL be a starter in the NFL soon, here or somewhere else. And knowing the Bears it will be somewhere else.

Because he lit up the 3rd stringers on a team that went 4-12 last year.

Rex total last year throw about 600 yards. Orton throw 175 in 1 quarter. Thats almost 30% of his 3 game(yes 3 games seems to be as long as he can play in a season)SEASON!

Again im not interested in why he CAN'T do something. I pay a lot of money for my seats, I want to see WHY people can do something.

I hate to inform you, but Orton is still wating for his first NFL start. Grossman started last nights game. It was a preseason game and he was playing against a secondary that odds are won't see the field this year. Before you take preseason stats too seriously consider that the Browns went 3-1 last year and Philip Rivers went 5/14 with 2 picks in his NFL debut. Would you rather have Orton that Rivers then?

Im not talking about a QB thats not on my team. I would rather have Orton, than Grossman. I disagree with you and saygdby, look when orton was on the field ALL the 3rd stringser were on the field, Offense and Defense. That means that Ortons line was 3rd string, his recievers were 3rd string, EVERYONE not only the defense. He looked Damn good. And do I look at preseason meaning much, no. If you remember '85 Bears were 0-4 in Pre-Season.

I'd rather have both of them rather than that fag out in frisco. i think that guy should get a place with ryan leif, cause i think they are one in the same.

but in all seriousness, i would have taken phillip rivers. that's just my humble opinion and i'm even a huge big eleven fan, but i would still have to go with rivers. orton has shown me he has a major choke factor he has to deal with. but things are the way they are. we have orton, so i will back him up until midseason when the Bears trade him away in a blockbuster deal when they aquire, again, jeff george and chirs chandler. gotta love chi-town.

Orton is going nowhere, everything the Bears have shown us in the last 17 years says the QB who starts the season will not finish it. That's hard facts my friends.

Agree to disagree I guess. If you're looking to land Matt Leinart than I agree 100% to start Orton.

I dont think the answer to our problems is another QB. Would I like Leinart? Hell yes. The answer to our porblems is not more, its anything that works. We lose A-Train for an A-Train replacemnt that wont sign. They need a lot of help, and a starting QB in his 3rd season, thats still a rookie is not a start.

I cannot see any way possible that they can turn back to him after this season...It will have to be addressed via free agency or draft again. Please please please be a free agent...I don't want to wait another 3 seasons for a young QB to "learn the ropes".

i hope its a free agent too. they should have gotten kurt warner when they had the chance.
so lets go back over the last 10 years or so and see how many bears starting quarterbacks we can name. it will be a game where we go back and forth. i'll start

so lets go back over the last 10 years or so and see how many bears starting quarterbacks we can name. it will be a game where we go back and forth. i'll start

    danny weurfell (sp)
    1. Danny Weurfell
    2. Steve Stenstrom

Let's just copy and keep adding. I could go all day on this, but I don't want to post 2 (or many more) consecutive names
