I like Phish just fine. I like DMB. What one does has nothing to do with the other. This topic is basically the definition of beating a dead horse. This was my first. I have a few friends who are Phish fans, but I've never debated Phish/DMB with them before. Also, I'm new to online message boards as a whole, so haven't come across this topic much. Honestly, not trolling. But I can totally see how it's redundant, and I've gathered that it's a conversation most people don't want to be involved in

Smooth rider immediately comes to mind. I have to say for all the hate everyday gets, lyrically I think it might be better than aftw. Although, nostalgia and sedimental aspects may also play a role.

By any measurable standard Page is a far better, and more accomplished, keyboardist than Butch. You might still like Butch’s playing more though, which is an unarguable point.

At the end of the day it doesn’t really matter. DMB is falling apart and without Boyd isn’t really even DMB anymore while Phish continues to push the envelope of what a band can be/do.

I felt this way for awhile, Phish was definitely an acquired taste for me, but I love them now and can't understand why I didn't always feel this way.
