ya exactly. And there aren't any huge lyrical changes. Most notably he changed "bones in the river" to "gold in the river" and "making love in the backseat" to "kissing girls in the backseat"

    Do you
    remember
    when we
    were small
    Do you
    remember
    when we
    believed

There was gold in the river
    and ghosts in the attic
    Don't go up there alone
    The enemy's coming
    We should take cover
Cause the odds are against us
    odds are against us

    Do you
    remember
    when we
    were young
    Do you
    remember
    when we
    made believe

    We're sinking in quicksand
There's no rope to save you
    When you're on your own
    Searching for treasure
    kissing girls in the backseat
    We're all on our own
    and the enemy's coming
    We should take cover
But the odds are against us
    The odds are against us

    Do you
    remember
    when we
    could see

    The color of sunlight
    The color of laughter
    Was the color of love
    The color of water
    The sun is so plenty
    And pouring all over us
    The color of sunlight
    Rising up like an ocean
    And pouring all over us
    Pouring all over us

    Do you
    remember
    when we
    would scream out loud

    Come out and get me
(There’s a river to drown in?)
Won't you come out and play
    If the color of water
    Rising up like an ocean
    Is pouring all over us
    We could be heroes
    Kissing girls in the backseat
It was the summer of love
    The color of water
    Rising up like an ocean
    And pouring all over us
It was pouring all over us
It was the summer of love

Thats what I was thinking too, and I dont necessarily agree that it could become the next LIOG, but I think that its formatted in a way to have a nice middle jam and then a slow outro jam with maybe a reprise, I think its pretty good

Snow Outside is no more Light Lift me Up than Typical Situation is Seek Up. I've never understood this lame comparison.

You make a good point until you actually listen to the 2 songs. Or play them on guitar.

I always love playing a nice Too Much Intro -> Billies. The transition is so seamless.

After hearing the Mexico version of Do You Remember I def could see this on the album...possibly as the last track with that new outro.

The chord structure at the beginning of snow is the same as light lift me up, you can hear distinctly hear it.

I would like to see some new music that is aggressive, and not just "dad rock". I get that singing about how he's 23 and so tired of life is a long long time ago but there are still plenty of songs that they have written in the past that are about topics that are still relevant ... DDTW, Minarets, Last Stop. I really like Samurai Cop and some of the other songs Dave has written lately, but if this album is just 12 different ways of trying to make something beautiful it'll be a bit of a letdown for me. I miss that side of Dave's songwriting, that type of emotion.

Yeah and that never happens with this band. Many of their songs have striking similarities. To say we got Light Lift me Up with Snow Outside, I completely disagree with.

Agree with you. Never saw the comparison either. I also play the guitar before someone tries to mention that.

Snow Outside evolved from Round and Round I can see.

Don't think anyone has ever made the comparison for Round and Round and Light Lift Me Up, which by some logic, they should sound a lot alike. They don't.

    Isn't Minarets an old song?
Anyhow, I understand exactly what you're saying. That's really what drew me to the music in the first place. To this day, I still can't think of anyone else who could create a 41 or Stone. Maybe Neil Young? He just recently put all his work up online so we've been watching/listening like crazy. If DMB ever did that, I'd probably hibernate for about a week, ha!

Do You Remember has 'full-band jammy song' written all over it. The lyrics could definitely use some work but the song has grown on me a lot.

Love what he did to the new Do You Remember with that cool little jam and I even like the lyric changes. Liked this song the first time I heard it and like it even more now. Could see this being a really nice summer vibe song especially with the full band. I hope I don’t jinx it but honestly Do You Remember, Samurai Cop, Bismarck, Black and Blue Bird and even Virginia In the Rain and Death on the High seas are good songs that I wouldn’t mind them on an album. Also Bob Law, even tho it’s kind of forgettable. Let’s say these 6 songs are on the album with another 5-6 new songs (maybe one of those is something crazy like idea of you or sugar will), I think from what we’ve seen so far we’re in good shape. Hopefully I’m not being overly optimistic but I’m really excited for this new album and hope we get some behind the scenes videos or regular updates on it till summer.

I second this completely. With the right studio magic the road tested new songs could be amazing.

Doesn't seem too optimistic to me. Seems very accurate. I like all of those songs... Bob Law is fun to me and jams but I know some folks aren't big fans of it. Anyway, that's a significant chunk of the new album already right there. Not bad.
