Zeppelin was really consistent, IMO, from Led Zeppelin I-IV + Houses of the Holy and Physical Graffiti.
Grateful Dead's run between '69 and '77 was incredible: Aoxomoxoa, Workingman's Dead, American Beauty, Wake of the Flood, Mars Hotel, Blues for Allah, and Terrapin Station
Phish had a crazy good run from Junta, Lawn Boy, Nectar, Rift, Hoist, Billy Breathes, Ghost, and Farmhouse
Neil Young had a really good starting run, culminating in On the Beach
Hell, Pink Floyd hit their masterpiece with album number 8. And their run from Meddle through The Wall is perhaps the best 6 album streak of all time (purely my opinion).
Point being, I think it's not as uncommon as you might think for bands to put out continuous good music over their career or a fairly long period of time.
