ohhhhh so YOU were talking about the character that Taika Waititi voiced, yeah that was def a droid.
But yeah I meant in "Sanctuary", the bounty hunter whose actual cross hairs we saw on the kid right before whatshername shot him from behind

This episode for me had what was probably the single funniest moment so far. baby Yoda's a little smartass, he was staring right at Mando when he went to flick the switch for a third time, like sup bitch?

Cross hair thing was not a droid I don't think, I'm 99.9% positive we've seen that race in other SW movies. Maybe Mos Eisley? Or Sarlac pit scene?

But I think if they have trackers that can track anyone anywhere in the galaxy, they'd also know when baby is dead. So it wouldn't have needed the body, just head shot and bounce.

generally speaking within the profession, I think that's totally true, but in this case they absolutely wanted the body. They could presumably do whatever experiments on him even if it were dead, but for the baby they needed him brought back. I'm assuming they had plenty other stuff planned for him after the point where Mando goes back to rescue him.

He was in ANH, he's the one that followed the gang from the bar to the Falcon and tipped the stormtroopers off.

Well...it wouldn't be SW without some plot holes So they're still on brand!

I can't really say 'weakest'... it's like trying to call one of the big 3 DMB's weakest.

    They have all been fantastic.

Agree. They seem to be doing a 'side-quest' with each episode. The overall story arch with Baby Yoda is working well, but the side-quests can seem rushed to fit into the 25 or whatever min episode. Like...that woman asking him to settle down and raise his family there in their community? Pump the breaks there, lady!

This article mentions that going off the dialogue there’s probably a hidden time jump that episode: https://screenrant.com/mandalorian-s...eks-episode-4/

Which makes her asking him to stay a little less weird, but I thought the same thing at the time

Not that I inherently dislike everything we've seen so far, but it's really starting to feel like this was absolutely originally born as a film idea (perhaps even the Boba Fett-specific one), for any number of reasons they couldn't or didn't want to make it work, so doing it as a series instead. Padding it with a whole episode like this.
The Nerd Soup channel had a take that I liked, that maybe Mando when his whole journey's complete that is the planet/village that he'll return to to rest long term, and make kissy helmets with the MILF. fuck that's a spinoff sitcom right there, Mando & The MILF

and I haven't read about this anywhere, but now we know how much footage there's been of him yet to ever take the helmet off, I wonder if that was still Pedro Pascal doing all the on set production work, or has it all been a stuntman with voice-over for only an inevitable helmet removal cameo in the finale.

My wife just upgraded her Verizon Wireless phone and got Disney plus for free for a year. I have a 2015 Smart TV and the Disney Plus app is not available. I have a Mac computer and can't seem to download it on the Mac, unless I am missing something. Anyone w/any advice on how to get the app? I don't want to watch this series on an iPhone. Thanks.

Compatible devices are listed on their website. AppleTV (gen 4 or newer), roku, chromcast etc...even PS4 & XBox have apps I believe.

We use appleTVs with all our TVs. The older gen 3 in our spare bedroom doesn’t have the app, but you can airplay from iPhone to it & it looks and sounds great (check your gear as many amps, TVs & Blu-ray players now support AirPlay so you may be able to cast from an iPhone with what you may already have). You can get a refurb appleTV gen 4 for pretty cheap. Great interface. Voice control (with HomeKit integration for smart lights etc - I can say “watch a movie” and all our Hue lights dim to a low blue or red color for ambience & it will set thermostat to our desired temp... it’s really nice). Cheapest option is probably a chrome cast or fire stick but I’m not a big fan of their interfaces.

Some dude on reddit is trying to make the point that the only reason people like this show so much is because the movies are so bad. People are so dumb.

Chapter 5 is interesting. Kind of a full circle episode in a lot of ways but the standout for me was the Buck Rogers serial feel to it, which inspired Star Wars to begin with.

Thought it was a solid episode but I feel like people won’t like it. Only thing that bothered me was the bounty hunter reminded me waaaay too much of Anakin (and I hated that character), but it might have been done on purpose given the surroundings.

sweet henry moses did this suck ass. I was more captivated by the bills and other small paperwork stuff I was catching up with here at my desk while watching this than I was the episode. and that kid's acting was just painful.
This now playing back to back with the "Sanctuary" episode, there's no doubt in my mind now this was originally meant to be a film but now they've padded it out to make it as a TV series.

Bounty hunter reminded me of the annoying dude from Agents of SHIELD from the future who had the hots for Sky.

Speaking of that show, enjoyed the Melinda May actress in this ep.

though, I mean please don't not bother to continue watching it at all after me having that kind of 'review', I'd feel awful if it's something you'd wind up actually liking
It's just that this is now two episodes in a row that seem to have nothing at all to do with the main story they've set up, aside obviously from the fact that One Mando & A Baby are still doing their road trip. just putting that in context with that there's only 8 episodes total... I wouldn't have expected something so short to have what feels like 'filler'. and that guy, the rookie bounty hunter, it was just such bad acting

I know this is probably like trying to compare apples to oranges and one show is twice the length in run-time, thus more material to draw from, but for those of you that also watch Watchmen, which do you prefer?

i enjoyed that episode, I thought it was fun but every single turn was predictable

I know I'm in the minority but the writing/dialogue in the show kinda sucks imo, and as for the main story- there is no main story. Every episode seems to focus on a side mission. There's little to no character development. We're more than halfway through the season and nobody can say what this show is actually about. Is it about the life of a bounty hunter? Is it about redemption for the main character? Is it really about Baby Yoda? Who knows?

are we sure this show is good? I just finished CH4 and I honestly can’t tell. It obviously looks fantastic but the acting is low key not good and the writing feels stiff and I’m just not really sure what story they are trying to tell.

edit: smoke I should have read what you wrote because you are dead on haha

I've really enjoyed watching the series with my 10-year old. It's kinda of funny how upset he gets we can't just start the next episode and have to wait a week. When I tell him at least he doesn't have to worry about commercials he just looks at me like I have a 3rd eye or something.

I have been reading some pretty entertaining theories about this series on reddit. Will be interesting to see what happens particularly with the timing of the 7th and 8th episodes compared to TLJ release.

Watchmen is head and shoulders above mandalorian. it’s not even close.
