New “Butterflies” Song just played @ Save the Stages

Sounds cool. Very intricate guitar part in the middle that reminded me of the breakdown of Do You Remember.

Caught me off guard so I didn’t get a chance to internalize it all. Just noticed Butterflies used a lot in the lyrics.

Starts off like a standard '50s rock ballad along the lines of Valens' Oh Donna, but then it's Dave 100%. Love it.

Such a fun sounding song musically. Stefan and the horns are gonna have a field day with this one. The lyrics as always in typical Dave style make something small seem so much bigger.

Never has trash floating in the ocean sounded so beautiful.

I clearly hear a /v/ in there, so it's definitely "selves" IMO. It's a bit awkwardly worded since "themselves" wouldn't really fit the meter (but Dave has been cramming lots of words into lines over the last decade or so, meter be damned... c.f. Black & Blue Bird, Bismarck).

It's worth noting that their songs aren't typically copyrighted until after they have debuted live or on an album, so seeing this song copyrighted months ago is atypical. Not sure if it means anything or if I'm reading too far into it.

What's interesting to me is that Ocean & Butterfly is registered for copyright but not with ASCAP, and Windows is registered with ASCAP but not for copyright.
