i know it doesn't HAVE to be like that, but that's how it is. and until the band brings LIOG back to glory, where it has 2 great solos and the reprise every time they play it, it should be nowhere near the set closer spot.

Edit: Also #41 could be shortened up as well. Stop playing Sojourn everytime and let it go Boyd solo > Jeff solo > Tim solo > end of song. Instead of doing nothing the last 5 minutes.

i agree it should still be played, but for christ's sake do something with the end of the song! they either need to go directly from boyd's solo to the reprise or actually put in another solo, whether it is tim or the horns. 5.30.08 was GREAT with a tim solo after boyd. then the next time they played it they didn't have a solo or the reprise.
and yes, Sojourn needs to go as well on #41. it takes up like 3 minutes, which is way too long considering its just an intro to the solo. if they're going to play it, just do it once, not twice like they have been. they have cut down #41 by a couple minutes though by getting rid of the carter/jeff "duel" which would go nowhere for 4 minutes.

EDIT: I'm sure there's a thread about it around here somewhere, but anyone think Butch might sit in at some point this year? I'd be alright with it, as long as he doesn't do that god-awful 'Shoo, Fly' shit during Jimi.

LIOG from 7.5.06 is still my favorite LIOG because of Butch's solo. Boyd was great as always, but Butch really turned it up for that one.
