Re: DMB Live - 7/9/95 (Belfort, France)

All finished.

Overall its a great release. Alternate lyrics here and there. The alternate lyrics to the short WWYS were a surprise haha. #41 was definitely different, nothing like I have heard. Very raw.

The mix was good although it did seem to be heavy on Stefan and lose Dave's guitar or Roi from time to time. Boyd was good and sang well on True Reflections. Dave was a little echo-y especially in the first couple songs.

I am happy I bought it, nice little treat of a release. Nothing mind blowing or spectacular IMO

    Festival over seas.

They used whatever gear the festival had for them to use (not their normal touring setup from pro media/ultrasound).

This was more than likely a stereo feed from main out to DAT. Just my guess.

I purchased this tonight and when I went to download it a message popped up that reads: "Download limit reached, please contact customer services".

That ever happen to anyone else?

What apps out there let you listen to .flac files on an iPhone? Or can someone shed some light on how to do it? Much appreciated!

Vox is the app I use. Really like it. You just add FLAC files like you would mp3 in the apple music app and away you go.

Aside from being an unknown set, I think the appeal is the setting and the people who were attending the show. It's a good archival release.

I just use All2MP3. It converts FLAC to MP3. I'll keep my FLACs in a separate folder, and my MP3s I'll import into iTunes for listening on the go.

What happens to Roi's sax right at the 2:52 mark? Had this great super tight raw sound right at the start then a reverb/chorus effect seems to be turned on right at the 2:52 mark. Anyone else pick that up?

Small tape glitch in Satellite right at the 4:12 mark, overall this one sounds great tho. Cool to hear #41 evolving.

I though this would be a generic 95 show but it’s really not. This unheard early version of #41 is worth the purchase alone.

Got my download to work and listened last night. I love the unfinished versions of #41, so as stated above, that was worth the purchase to me. Mostly stock, but the other highlights for me were the WWYS->Ants with the slightly altered lyrics in WWYS and the acoustic Two Step to close the encore. Nice compact show with good energy.

This is bugging me. Is anyone fluent enough in French to tell me if I'm right and "Des Eurockéenne" should be "Les Eurockéennes"? I did a Google search and it even looks like Eurockéenes was misspelled as well by management.

Re: DMB Live - 7/9/95 (Belfort, France)

I'm not fluent but work with several fluent French speakers here - discussed this and it was said that des comes from the description of the entire festival (Les festival des Eurockéennes) and so Des Eurockéennes may be fine as short form of the full description "Les Festival des Eurockéennes". One other option is that over time the festival official short name (currently Les Eurockéennes) may have changed from Des Eurockéennes.

What's certain is that no matter whether you choose des or les, "Eurockéenes" is incorrect (DMBLive vol. 30: Des Eurockéenes 7/9/1995) as it should have two Ns at the end.
