Boyd Tinsley Appreciation Thread...

This man has givin nothing but his all to this band. For people to come out and say that he is giving up and that they are trying to fizzle him out is wrong. Boyd Tinsley is the man, lets talk about our favorite solo's with Boyd Tinsley...

my all time favorite was a show that I was at in 2007... 8.2.2007 at the comcast center lie in our graves amazing ftw..

Had front row at blossom last year, I was right in front of Stefan, but I got boyd to come over and jam a little on bayou. Not my favorite solo musically, but it's in the top 5 concert experiences for me. & if that man's smile doesn't make you smile . . . there's something wrong. You can just tell he's the type of guy you would want to go to the bar with and throw a couple back.

he may not be as big a part of this new album as he has with dmb's other albums but he is no less an integral part of this band and has helped define them as a musical act. if he were to leave, i really feel like dmb would be done (opinion). dmb is first and foremost a live band and it's not as if they will stop playing their old stuff in concert, songs where he is absolutely necessary and just would not work w/o him. besides, we've only heard half of the new album.

i would never be able to listen to seek up ever again w/o hearing his haunting strings and so many others.

I like him, his devotion to the band goes unnoticed a lot I feel, except for his great dances and faces during violin solos.

I think Boyd is what makes DMB unique and sets them apart from other bands. Boyd is very talented. I have seen him play away from DMB and he can def hold his own. I don't think it is fair to say that he is the worst musician on the stage as others have said in the other threads. That is just stupid. Anyways Boyd is still in the band and going strong so why start a bunch of hoopla about it?

Boyd has stepped it up this year. Last year he was amazing, but he's even gone beyond that this past spring tour. Yeah, sometimes he just stands around, but his playing has never been better, I think. BT is the man! (and not the BT on the keys)

I couldn't possibly care less if he dances around the stage or not. If standing off to the side jamming means he sounds as good as he did in Pelham, I'll take all that I can get. The man can sit down for all I care. His sound is 100% ESSENTIAL to DMB's sound. Without the vioin (and sax), DMB is just another good rock band.

I'll be honest, Boyd was not my favorite member of the band for a while. I would never post a negative thing about him on here though. Anyhow, the 2007 tour changed my mind. It just clicked. I used to think he was a bit "over-the-top", then I realized how wrong i was. He has been consistent and solid. Now, he has mellowed out a bit, and I kinda' miss the "showy" Boyd. Overall Boyd is "the deal"!

Did the lack of writing credits on the new album seriously translate to 'Boyd is leaving the band?'

    For fuck sake....

Boyd very rarely has writing credits

Not going to lie, Boyd used to be probably my least favorite member for a long time, but now I just love the violin so much. I need him and it in this band forever.

That was Carter. Boyd was the one who wanted to learn the 'stringed instrument' because he thought it would be a guitar.
