Two nights in Atlanta or Atlanta and Charlotte to be on different legs of the tour.
New Album that sounds like Little Red Bird EP that is the best 3.0 has sounded IMO
Tim on acoustic for some songs and clean channels.
    Song selection similar to 2013

    This x1000.

Tim will not play acoustic with the full band unless it's an acoustic set. Everyone needs to give up that dream right now. It's simply not going to happen. This is the best we can hope for.

But they sounded way off, and Dave seemed to struggle singing over the full band, but again, he's only played acoustic shows for a year so it might just be an adjustment.
Likewise. Dave's voice sounded great at Farm Aid, and I am a fan of the new tune. In his defense, I'm sure it was a long week of rehearsals and maybe some sleepless nights given that he was an integral role in putting on the show. That coupled with probably visiting with people backstage all night probably played a role in how his voice sounded.

But with that said I have just had it with Carter, Tim and Rashawn. Everyone complains about Boyd, but we all know that story, and honestly having listened back he wasn't as low as he usually is in the mix. It was really the tunes with Stevie Wonder that he couldn't be heard well, even though he can be heard towards the end of Imagine. But Boyd is still not a promising situation. That Grey Street was absolutely atrocious.

I know this isn't the first time Tim's sound has been discussed on here, but is it because we've just had out first listen on the band in over a year, and maybe we're not used to it after listening to Dave & Tim for majority of the year so far? It just seems more people are advocating for Tim to either leave the band or be lowered than normal on here. I'm not complaining about it, just an observation.

    Normally it is.

In 2016 it was noticeable at multiple shows I was at in the Pit & Lower Pavilion. I'm sure it's pretty easy to catch on tapes, I know the Gorge N3 tape you can clearly hear it.

Thinking the band is goin to change their “sound” next summer is unrealistic imo. Tim’s going to be loud, the horns will be loud, and carter will play aggressively. That’s just the way it is, again it’s just my opinion. Also, the setlists will more then likely be stale. The past few summers have proved these things.

    But, to answer the question
2 nights in Nashville (at least 1)
    Setlists variety

    1) New album
    2) A tour that includes Red Rocks and a finish at The Gorge
    3) Homage to BTCS anniversary
    4) A long, chill, Anastasio-esque LIOG
    5) Cover a track from The Who
    6) Butch

Do people really not think Alpine and the Gorge will be played next year? When we get a tour (smaller or the same) those places will still be visited.

As far as Tim, I agree it can be too much but I would place that on the CVille event mixing. It's never been that dominated at a live show I've seen.

RR...and for that matter Jeff. We have to give up that this is the horn SECTION. As much as I along with all of you, loved LeRoi, it's not gonna change. I honestly don't find it that bad.

Lastly, let's remember we love this band. Love can be our harshest critic but let's not have it take away from the end of the day. We still buy LT, still buy posters, and still hang on to any new updates of the band.

I love when Carter plays with some jazzy pizzazz! It's one of the reasons #41 is my all-time favorite song by any band. I hope some of the new songs have some great jazz-inspired grooves.

Give Rashawn a tambourine or something
    Bring back openers

I would absolutely love to see my greatest love dmb play the gorge but it’s unrealistic for me really. I live in Pa all the way on the other side of our country! It would be super awesome if they came back to montage mountain again. Maybe someday I’ll see the gorge and my favorite band! It is after all heavens amphitheater

    - turn Tim up
    - kick Boyd out
    - give Carter some heavier sticks, take away his chimes
    - ask Raab to do full-time backing vocals
    - tell the fans Butch is coming back, but at the last minute surprise us all with Stevie Wonder instead
    - have Stevie Wonder introduce the band every night
    - cover at least 5 Stevie Wonder songs per night

I just want Butch, Jeff, the horns and Tim for an entire summer tour.

I want all the '15-'16 songs sprinkled through all the different stops, and whatever material Dave has written during the break. I want Break For It played a lot too. Just that, I'm easy.

At the risk of asking a dumb ?, is Butch back for GOOD? I guess I am assuming he is -- or at least for 2018 -- but I didn't know if his appearance at the Benefit was because it was in Charlottesville and a "special" show.

    Monkey Man
    Monkey Man
Monkey Man (at a show I witness)

Last Stop - played at Alpine

    What You Are
Lying In the Hands of God
    You Never Know
    Write A Song
    If Only
    Too High
    Snow Outside
    Sweet Up and Down
    Broken Things
    I'll Back You Up

Wrigley Field - at least one show

YMDT: Dave scat outro as he did in Moline 2016
Ants Marching: keep playing 2016 version

    MORE BOYD.
"Horny" section: I like the battling horns, keep 'em! ex. 2016 N3 Gorge - Typical Situation was epic, the energy and the look on Rashawn's face as Carlos Malta waled was priceless. I don't see how many of their songs work without the horn variety.
KEEP TIM. I love his solos and I love them loud! but I understand turning down his rhythm parts.
    NO BUTCH.

    New album.

Better songs and more song variety. Imagine how song flow would of been impacted if they substituted Dreaming Tree in the place of Plastic Girl last year..

The accoustic sets were great for me because Dave didn't have to yell over everyone #davethecolorsinDavesvoice. You realize it's not gonna last forever, so let's lighten up, slow things down. My opinion.

Know it's not the same thing, but let's not/let's be selfish, if you know what I mean. 😈

Will never understand why they feel the need to change their stage set up just for Tim to pick up an acoustic, Stefan to bring out his upright/acoustic bass, or Carter to switch up his playing style. Would be great if they could just integrate this into the traditional set. Its not that big of a deal, just some more work for the road crew.

As far as Alpine goes, it was closed this summer. They said they're opening back up next year, but I still feel uneasy about it. Unless there's been an update that I missed?

Also, good point about our love for the band.

I love Break For It! It would be fantastic to see that as a regular on the setlists!

Yeah I don't remember when the last time was that I posted. I guess seeing Butch possibly back got me excited? Didn't realize how much I missed the keys in the DMB sound until recently... plus my 3 daughters keep me busy.
