Thank you. One more - weekend camping passes allow for Thursday arrival? That is what I glean from the FAQ but want to make sure my assumption is correct. Set up camp Thursday, depart Monday?

Better bathrooms/showers: Premiere or Terrace? or are they the same "quality"? Asking since my wife isn't much of a camper.

    Thanks!

Terrace is miles and miles better than Premier for bathrooms and showers and comfort.

But Premier is easier to get, cheaper, and tend to be louder

Probably a stupid question, but is the entire lawn GA? Including the lower terrace looking area with the "steps"? Do you people rush in at gate open to get those lower spots?

Can't speak from experience, but I'd assume the view of the stage/sound being better is worth it. Plus there's no real view from the top once the sun goes down anyways, right?

This. The steps are centered and provide the best view of the stage. You can still see some of the view of the river and scenery off to the right, IIRC, but yea, you can't see the view when the sun goes down anyway.

During the day you can walk around and hang out at the top for a bit to take in the scenery.

The steps also keep you a little bit isolated from the moving/pushing of people going for food/bathrooms/etc... and the sound is very very good from there.
Plus, they are tall enough that you can stay seated and see over the people on the step in from of you. Its my favorite place to be at the Gorge.

When do tickets usually go on sale for The Gorge on a normal touring year?

Okay perfect, I've been reading the FAQ and have read most of the pages of this thread. It is looking more and more likely that I'll be making the trip in 2018 for the first time, first step is figuring out tickets. Thank you!

Gorge is the easiest ticket of the tour, so don't fret over them.

IIRC from another thread, you're not going to camp, so I'd say lodging is going to be your most pressing issue.

Oh really? I was fully expecting the annual shut out by Ticketmaster then either lawn or pay double face value somewhere. I know you are saying don't fret but I'm just curious .. for ticket purposes would you suggest joining The Warehouse?

That's the idea as of now, I get why people love camping and I have camped plenty myself but for multiple days in an area I've never been I would like to explore other places as well.

Tickets go quick initially, but there are always drops on TM later and the boards always get flooded with tickets leading up to the shows because people buy them in January and then realize later what all it takes to get to Gorge and sell them off.

As to Warehouse, Idk. If you care where you sit, I'd say don't bother. If you just want a chair, I'd say it's probably worth it if you're worried about peace of mind and just want to have tickets.

I would do lawn at least one night if it's your first time at Gorge. Pit is a hell hole at Gorge; I don't really recommend it but others may disagree.

If you've got $35 laying around, join the Warehouse and put in for tickets before regular on-sale. And get your CITI card ready, or find a friend who has one, for the pre-sale.

Either way, decide first what type of tix you want for FRI/SAT/SUN.

I've always lucked out and gotten my camping passes during citi or general onsale; i've gone to gorge twice and have scored 4 terraces and 4 premiers for myself and others, but you have to be ready to pull the trigger and be smart. i've always gotten my lawn ticket package through the WH without issue. I've gotten a n3 pit on a drop and could hvae gotten other pits on drops. it's pretty easy for the gorge, but it's definitely easy to stress the fuck out about it, too

Starting to take a closer look at flights for Labor Day 2018. I want to book but I know it's not 100% done deal. Normally when I book flights I never have to second guess rescheduling or cancelling. When you get into cancelling or rescheduling aren't most airlines going to hit you with a pretty big price tag?

Also, how confident is everybody here that DMB will be doing Labor Day weekend 2018?

If you book SW there are no fees to reschedule or cancel. You don't get your money back (unless you book the super expensive tier), but you get it, in full, in credit that you have up to a year to use on another trip.

I see no reason to believe Gorge won't be LDW, but I'm not certain to the point that I'd book non-SW flights or non-refundable Airbnb's or anything.

Unless I'm missing something, when I go to SW website I can't even check prices or book this far out yet.

Yea, it'll be a bit longer until their September calendar is released.

edit: Actually, probably not till February. And we'll probably have dates by then.

I can't speak for SW because we usually don't fly on them but yes, you will get hit with rebooking/cancel fees on most airlines.

I can get a round trip flight from Newark to Seattle (Wed. Aug 29th - Tues. September 4) for around $300... Ugh should I just book this now?

The best price I'm looking at right now from Chicago to Seattle, Thursday 30th-Monday 3rd is about $340. Close to $400 after baggage
