You've never heard tLWS? Seriously? Do yourself a favor and listen ASAP

Totally serious. I was a very sporadic fan until 05 when I say DMB live for the first time and got hooked (had no idea they were such a great live band before then). Would have been nice to have figured out how great the were earlier . I rarely listen to the studio albums and I dont really want to hear tLWS as I'm assuming its as good as everyone says and Id rather not torture myself with versions of songs I have no hope of ever hearing live. I have a friend whose mission it is to play tLWS for me one day, so it will happen sooner or later.

This is really a weird reason to not listen to an album. I guess I should stop listening to the Beatles then.

Most of them have been played live at some point. A lot of them were re-recorded for Busted Stuff.

I'm never going to see the Beatles live, so that's not an issue for me.

I know that, and the live versions are fairly faithful (more or less given the way songs progress) to the Busted Stuff versions. I get that most people wouldn't approach it the way I do, and I'm comfortable with that. I'm just not into unreleased, leaked, throw away, etc... material from a band. If they wanted it heard, they would have pressed the album.

I can appreciate that. As a creative person, there are things that are just for me, things that I'm not ready to show other people, things I don't think are finished, things I don't care if I finish ...

That said, I think once it's out there, it's out of the hands of the person who made it. But I respect where you're coming from.

Mine came today. Excited to look at it all and listen hopefully this weekend. I have no idea how to send to MP3 files and I know there are some floating around out there... How do I know what is the best? I would like to also be able to enjoy this at the gym or in the car haha

I certainly respect your philosophy on this, but you're missing out on tLWS big time. Hope you get to enjoy it soon 😁😁

How can a generation that grew up with the internet be so bad at stealing music? It's mind boggling.

It's mindboggling how many times I've had to explain torrents to people my age or younger.

To be fair, torrents are (fortunately or unfortunately) on their way out. Most of the major hubs I knew are either defunct or honey pots for law enforcement. There's some niche trackers out there still, but the torrent scene is not what it used to be at all.

Why? If it weren't for downloading DMB shows I'd have no idea what a torrent is.

At this point it's become pretty easy and affordable for people to obtain the music they want to listen to without having to pirate it. Spotify, Amazon Prime etc. There's probably less of a need for torrents.

Doobie Thing sounds like some cheesy 90s sitcom theme song...but I love it!

Yeah, without DMB I wouldn't know what a torrent was. I've used it for other things now, but yeah I doubt I'd no much of it without DMB.

Didn't really enjoy Falling of the Roof. The music was fine enough but the lyrics were ultra cheesy. Rest of the release is top notch.

Really? They're not great lyrics by any means, but I like them, they fit the mood of the song. If you think they're ultra cheesy, what do you think about the lyrics to Seven, You & Me, Rooftop, Corn Bread? Haha

Also, don't know why, but I love Dave's brief line in Toy Soldiers when he says "and you come shining" ...never noticed it on the tape.

I don't know that any one would have, that tape is terrible. Having this Toy Soldiers as a SBD is the real gem for me.

Toy Soldiers has never really done anything for me. This release didn't change that, though I'll agree it's nice to have a version released given how many other WH intro versions we have.

I have always enjoyed A Dream So Real since it's debut in 2007. It's such a beautiful, almost out of character piece of music for Dave and the band, and everyone truly shines on the performance on Live 25. I can't believe how somber and beautiful Boyd is on the song, which I never really heard before on fan tapes. Roi is magic as always on the track, and Dave really sits in that emotion both through his voice and guitar work.

Truly stellar version of the song, so glad it was not overlooked for something more popular on paper.
