Live at Luther College

In the past few days I've been listening to Live at Luther College. I'm honestly blown away...Dave's voice sounds absolutely fantastic. Thoughts?

I love it, my second Dave related CD I bought with LiC being the first.

Anyone who says it's not the best released D&T show are completely out of their mind, especially if they think RCMH was better.

Warehouse in that album is just fucking insane. Actually before listening to this album the only Warehouse I had heard was the one in Listener Supported, so for the first +-1 minute of intro I was wondering what Dave and Tim were doing.....but when the intro suddenly changed into the original beginning of the song I felt damn chills all over my body. This was one of the most impressive moments associated with my DMB or D&T listening experience. This version still sometimes gives me shivers. Immaculate.

The part in the passion intro where he goes from falsetto to his normal voice is orgasmic. One of the best performances I've ever heard.

Up until recently, I used to dislike #41 quite a bit, but the the Luther College version changed my mind.... still not a top 10 song but I definitely like it a lot more!

I love it. I love all of Tim's solos and his more gentle approach to solos, as compared to RCMH where he uses the slide on every solo. LiC is one of my most listened to albums, and no matter what mood im in, it always makes me feel better.

Well damn me. I do enjoy Live at Luther a lot but RCMH is still my favorite! Don't hate me now. I can't tell you why to be honest. I associate a lot with it and I love the whole atmosphere it had.

But I do have to say that I prefer #41 on Live at Luther and yes Warehouse is orgasmic.

    Seriously doesn't everyone agree it's top-notch?

And I know I'm in the minority here but I've always believed that version of Typical was its truest form.

Still my favorite CD of all time. I bought a guitar and taught myself to play solely because of this show. So many great moments, there are too many to name. Dave's voice has never been better and good luck ever getting a crowd like this again. What a magical evening it must have been. RCMH is great, but there really is no comparison. Iconic versions of Typical Situation and Christmas Song.

i'm a huge radio city fan. that shizz still blows me away. and luther college is amazing too. awesomeness all around. also, i think the radio city documentary is beautiful. nothing but love. this is a luther college thread so i won't take it over w/radio city praise...but i think dave's version of "some devil" w/the "i just think that's pretty" intro is one of my v. favorites ever. i feel like he's so vulnerable during that song. it rips my heart out. in a good way. and i love the luther college "halloween."

IMO, the best D&T #41 and Typical ever. (If you know of better, please share)

After a long hiatus (from around BS until about 2 years ago), listening to Luther College was what brought me back to DMB. It is impossible to overlook Dave's incredible songwriting/musical ability and stage presence when you listen to this album. It's still one of my favorite live albums to date.

Edit: Seek Up and Halloween from Luther College are my favorite versions of those songs.
