A fourth grader could have seen this coming. This is why you can't just vote someone into office because they check off little boxes, like woman, non-straight, and non-white. Property taxes are going to skyrocket (again).

While there was a lot of maneuvering Thursday and it appeared the Democrats had lined up enough votes, Republican David McSweeney filed a series of requests for information about how the proposed tax changes would impact the statewide budget for construction projects like schools and hospitals and that appears to have scuttled hopes of passing the bill.

The mayor had expressed optimism when she went to Springfield this week that she could get help reducing the 72-percent tax rate for a Chicago casino, which a consultant said was too onerous to attract investors. Mike Madigan is a lifetime democrat.

He's pretty much responsible for tax laws in the state. His "other" job is getting paid by large corporations to manuever out of paying those taxes so a larger burden falls on the middle class and his "other" job pays him very, very well.

Madigan, who declined to be interviewed for this report, has in the past denied any conflict of interest.

Unfortunately for Lightfoot, she doesn't understand that Chicago doesn't comprise the entire state of IL. But, she checks the boxes that liberals love so here we are.

Mcsweeney killed it, read the previous paragraph. Madigan recused himself and I'm going to guess, from my knowledge of Illinois politics, that he's very good at whipping members so she lost that arrow for this bill and that's why it's included in this article. Regardless, the first paragraph says she had the votes until mcsweeney, a republican, ran the clock out.

This article is from a month ago. A month ago the governor had no idea of Lightfoot's plans. To me, that screams terrible leadership.

Vought and two other political appointees at the agency defied congressional subpoenas to appear. The White House has called the impeachment inquiry unconstitutional and ordered administration officials not to participate.

Unlike these other OMB officials, Sandy is a career employee, not one appointed by the president. He has worked at the agency off and on for over a decade, under presidents of both parties, climbing the ranks to his current role as deputy associate director for national security programs.

You can't throw something together where you're asking money from the state and think that it's just going to fly though in two days. That's a lack of planning. A lack of planning is a direct result of shitty leadership.

And, for blaming a republican, that's just you being a partisan hack. His responsibility isn't to the city of Chicago, so he's obligated to serve his constituents. This is a major issue that people in Chicago don't understand and apparently you don't get it either.

What was Lightfoot's backup plan? Where are the list of cuts? Where was standing up to CTU? Nowhere. That's the point. So what's the alternative? Apparently, the only alternative is to raise property taxes. And, as I previously posted, if anyone thinks big corporations or "rich" people are going to pick up the tab, then I'd refer them back to the link on Mike Madigan.
