Re: Rick and Morty (tv show)

Last night's been my favorite of the new 3. I need to rewatch the first half of the season. None of it is coming to mind.

I dunno, for an episode titled "The Vat of Acid Episode", I was really expecting them to spend more time in the vat of acid. I mean, sure they spent more time in a vat of acid than they do in most episodes, but most episodes aren't titled "The Vat of Acid Episode".

    It was alright.

Do all the episodes have that title card? I feel like that's the first time I've noticed it.

I mean after the first scene I thought they would be in it the whole time too but.... how is that a complaint? Youre mad they didnt just spend an entire episode in a vat of acid? what

They brought it full circle at the end, and that was better than if they were stuck underwater the whole time and just did call backs or something. It was a shot at like old 80s movie tropes with the acid and morty telling rick he lost his edge (the dementia joke was hilarious).

In the episode itself? No not normally.

I think this is the first episode title that didnt incorporate Rick or Morty's names.

Enjoyed the episode very much. They seem to be inching closer and closer back to classic R&M adventures and “Lessons"

Loved the line, yeah you’ve been prestige-ing yourself.

I was happy to see the entire gang back together again, but it felt like a retread in a lot of ways.

I'll agree it was a bit of a retread, but I thought they needed to get back to the whole family and start dealing with those interpersonal relationships again. Obviously I don't want that every week, but i think that episode was necessary to tie everyone back together as we head to the finale of this super disjointed season.

I think I'll be going back and rewatching the entire season before I watch the finale to see how it all "flows".

I loved seeing the group interaction again, but it just wasn't a very funny episode. The "Planets Only" bit after the post-credits was probably the most humorous part for me.

Jerry turning into the leader reminded me of Morty when he became a tribal leader during the TinyVerse/MicroVerse episode.

    It was fine

After two seasons of Roiland and Harmon squabbling and faffing around about contract stuff, I wanna see this show get its shit back together

Get it all together and put it in a back pack, all your shit, so it's together. And if you gotta take it some where, take it somewhere, you know, take it to the shit store and sell it, or put it in the shit museum. I don't care what you do, you just gotta get it together.

    Get your shit together.

I've found the last few episodes very enjoyable. The whole season has been the most up and down one of the 4 for me, but still some highlights.

Season 2 and 3 are my favorite.

    What? Really?

Anatomy Park and especially meseeks & destroy are top tier R&M

S2 & S3 are the best front to back though yea

meeseeks and destroy is the best early episode. Anatomy park is pretty meh in terms of rewatch. I think the 1st season is more "necessary" to watch than overall enjoyable.

The pilot, snowball, and gazorpazorp episodes are pretty lame in my book after the first time. M Night-Shaym-Aliens is the first episode of S1 I truly love.

    S1 Ep. 4-5 & 8-11 are my favorites. 10 & 11 being the best.

I mean I dont think its the episode, its the cultural reaction to it. Same thing with pickle rick, I was tired of that pretty much immediately. Still a great ep though.

Idk for me all of S1 through 3 are so good upon rewatch. Ep 2 with Scary Terry still makes me laugh every time. Its kind of a rule of thumb with this show that you need to watch each ep at least twice to get whats going on and catch all the jokes.

I think my favorite from the first season is either the Meeseeks or Rick Potion No. 9

I think the ending of Rick Potion was the one that made it clear for me that this series is playing by its own set of rules

I think S1 is more enjoyable after you've seen the entire series. I remember my first watch of the series I didn't dig it that much. I watched it not that long ago and was really into it.
