"I got a little sister named Jane...." crazy how the crowd explodes when nobody is even playing any music yet

the 3rd chorus in Seek Up, with the extended lines

and this will probably get some shit, but really, think about this one for a minute. a good crowd singing "Honey, honey, come and dance with me." tons of bands get crowds to sing, but they're all led into it and told what to do. during Everyday, the crowd, without coaxing from the band, sings the chorus to an entirely different song than the one being played. the crowd has their own part of the performance, and its really awesome when everything comes together.

listen to Everyday from 6.23.06. the crowd sings their part, Dave sings a couple verses and then the chorus from #36, Boyd has his backing vocals, and then it all comes together into one. so fucking good.

Yeah, I know Dave is a low-key, no-frills frontman, but that is one of the things I like so much about DMB. I absolutely hate it when a frontman directly encourages the crowd to participate in any way. I 100% refuse to do so in that situation.

When the crowd gets the band to play Thank You during the SDL outro. I love that.

Camden 2013 N1, they ended Lie in our Graves without the reprise. They dropped the Reprise into the N2 encore and the place exploded. I thought it was cool but doesn't take much to amuse me.

On a live release? The whole jam on #41 from LT 1. I don't know why, but it's just a special version to me. A runnerup is Bartender on 8/19/2008 just hours after Roi passed. Just an emotional moment. Another is Crush from LT13 and the Roi/Tim duel.

That Hershey encore of 2008 probably is the best moment in my DMB musical experience... along with #41 Jiffy Lube 2016.

I also love any moment where Dave or another band member acknowledges how good they sound. On recordings you can occasionally hear Dave let out a "Yeah!" or when he backs of the mic and just starts bobbing his head and looks back at Carter. Or when Rashawn closes his eyes and starts bobbing his head real hard to something someone else in the band is doing, as if to say to the crowd "y'all hearing this too? fire!"

You know that feeling when you are waiting for them and to come out on stage? That anticipation. Then seeing them walk out and crowd goes nuts. It's always been my favorite part of the show, waiting for them to open the show up. My first show, Giants Stadium 98, opening song....The Best of Whats's Around. I've been hooked ever since. Best band ever.
