Re: Songs DMB Should Cover

Stay Up Late by Talking Heads. The song, especially the "all night long" jam at the end sounds like classic DMB. And isn't technically a cover, but speaking of ending jams, why, why, why has DMB never done "Too High?" That's like, tailor-made for them to go nuts on.

Good call on Do It Again, although they really need Butch for it to sound just right.

Okay!!!! If not been thought of or posted -should be brought to band's attention:
    AFRICA by Toto

I mean c'mom.... Not only one of everybody's favorites, but OBVIOUS connection to Dave's home!!!!
Only possible issue is if it's in Dave's mid-tour vocal range... Rashan and Carter can/have done great job filling vocal for throat problems.

(Still pulling for Rasberry Beret - we would eat this up with sing-along factor AND give Boyd a platform to take solo)

I'd be surprised if this wasn't already mentioned in this thread, but the current lineup could absolutely crush '25 or 6 to 4' by Chicago.

So many good Chicago songs to choose from that would fit the band well.

At the top of my list would be "South California Purples." God, that song would be a monster with this lineup.

I think with the current horns and number of backing vocalists they could do a killer version of The 5th Dimension's "Let The Sunshine In"

. I've posted this before. They would do a killer version IMO.

I've also posted before, Touch Me by the Doors.

And The Devil Went Down to Georgia; Dave narrates, Tim plays the Devil, and Boyd is Johnny.

I would like to see DMB cover any song performed by DMB circa 1996-1999. I think they could do a great job if they worked at it.
